Overview:
With the Picture Dial software installed on your BlackBerry, you will never forget a number again. Simply download the application and start taking pictures of your friends and family. These pictures will now be associated with each contact in your phone book and provide you the option of calling, emailing, SMS and MMS by clicking on their image from within the Picture Dial interface.If your BlackBerry does not have a camera in it you have the option of uploading or storing any GIF, PNG or JPG image on your device or memory card. The Picture Dial application will use these images and attach them to your desired contacts.
Pros: Picture Dial is super easy to use. You are able to import your contacts into the application and associate an image with each one in just a couple of seconds. The navigation is all controlled with your trackball and the BlackBerry menu key and it is very difficult to make an error that you can not correct. Picture Dial is a great place to store contacts that you do not want appearing in your regular contacts list.
Cons: The edit and crop mode for Picture Dial is a bit clumsy in it's implementation. Taking a standard photo of one of your friends on a Pearl and then using Picture Dial to edit it will surely be an exercise in frustration. Also if you would like to use the same picture twice, for instance if it is a group shot and you want to crop to each face individually, you will not be allowed. Instead, what you get is a duplicate entry for the first person you associated that image with.
