Gwabbit
Editorial Rating
Overview:Gwabbit is a great addition to any BlackBerry. Once it is installed you will have the power to automatically create new contacts on your device simply by reading incoming email. The Gwabbit application runs in the background and springs to life when you open a new email. If you do not already have that individual in your contacts a small pop up will appear asking you to add them. If you say yes then Gwabbit will populate a new contact with as many details as it can gather from the body of the email and any signatures present. All of this info is then saved under the new contact. Pros: Getting so many emails a day on my BlackBerry makes it tough to save all relevant contacts and many times important info slips through the cracks. With Gwabbit those cracks are sealed up with little effort at all. Cons: The software could use a little tweaking in my opinion. If you already have a contact stored that matches the email details on an incoming message, Gwabbit will not ask you to confirm details. This means that something may have changed in their details but Gwabbit does not recognize it. The other problem I have with Gwabbit is that it is a subscription based service. You get a one year subscription for $10 but this should really be a one time purchase.
