We’re all about doling out the BlackBerry advice here at BBGeeks, and the best source of this has come from my own personal Berry issues. Last night another one popped up. I received an email later at night, surprisingly unrelated to the Presidential election. I tried to reply, but couldn’t. I got a dialog box telling me that “No message services configured. You will only be able to Save Draft.” Ugh, I thought. Another one of these problems. Thankfully, I had an idea of how to fix this, and with a little help from Google I got it done fairly quickly.

This one is solved with the good old service books method. I read some more intricate processes on the Internets, but none of those steps were really necessary. Immediately after receiving the error, I logged into my BIS, clicked on Service Books, and had them sent. And, uh, that’s it.
I can now reply to messages and compose them just as normal. I’m not sure why this happened in the first place; I was easily able to compose messages earlier yesterday. If anyone can identify a possible source, that would be great. For BIS users, though, this is the solution. For BES users, it appears you’ll have to generate a new encryption key. You can do this by going to the Service Books on your handheld (Options — Advanced Options — Service Book) and deleting the Desktop (CMIME) service book.

What if we don’t have a “Desktop(CMIME)” on my service books?
If you do not see the Desktop(CMIME) in your service books all you need to do is log into your BIS account and resend the service books.

None of the above “solutions” worked for my Blackberry Curve 8330. (For what it’s worth.)
That’s strange, Stormbow, because I did all this from a Curve 8330.
None of the solutions worked for my BlackBerry 8330 either, Joe. I’ve sent my books twice, done a battery pull and nothing.
@Julie – have you resent the Host Routing Tables? That is almost surely your problem – other than that you have to contact your customer service and may need a new phone.
Thank you very much man!
