One thing I’ve started to do more and more lately is keep lists on my BlackBerry. After all, it doesn’t come stock with the MemoPad application for nothing. This is more than helpful for a forgetful person like me. It can be more than that, though. Lists can be a reminder of what I need while I’m out. For example, if I’m in the grocery store, I just pull out the ‘Berry and see what I’ve already added to the list. This way, I don’t make six trips to the store per week because I keep forgetting one thing.
So as I said, groceries is the first list I keep on the ‘Berry. Another key to keeping this list, of course, is that I have to delete things once I buy them. Forget to do that, and I risk having sixteen gallons of milk in my fridge.
Next, and most important to me, is books. I live in a city which has a store with 18 miles of books. If you don’t go in there knowing what you want, you can lose hours of your life just browsing shelf after shelf. Having the list also makes it more likely that I’ll actually read the books I buy. You should see my shelf of unread books which will likely remain that way for quite some time.
I also keep a little odds and ends list. I try to check this every time I go out, and keep my eyes open for an appropriate store or shop. This is most frequently the hardware store. So this list not only serves to tell me what I need, it serves as a reminder that I need it.
What about you guys? What kind of lists do you keep on your BlackBerry?

I use memopad for a lot of things. Keeping track of my mileage for work and security code for the building. As far as lists, besides the ones you mentioned I also make lists of songs that I like and want to remember to download later and things I don’t want to forget to tell someone. Handy tool!
Train schedules
Work expenses
Those days you can find in my memopad :
- songs I hear on the radio and that I just need to own when I’m back home
- all kinds of PIN & codes I don’t use often but I need to be able to find quickly
- member cards numbers
- a piece of clothe reference, size and price to look up online for a better deal
- Paris’s 8110 kick off party address from last year !!
- train schedules
- the right version of v4.5 that is actually stable on me french provider 8110
- a starting list of xmas present ideas :)
- references of a very good wine I had once in a restaurant & I still need to find online
- reference a the best hand cream ever
… yep, I totally am a girly bby geek & proud of it ;-)
Thank you BBGeeks.com for your awesome feeds, you always make my day …
Everytime I go to the movies or even just rent a DVD I pull out my BB and jot down the good previews.Very helpful when updateing my netflix queue. I also keep track of christmas/birthday shopping lists along with the usual fast food/take out orders for my house, saves a lot of time when grabbing a quick dinner.
I keep a listing of website addresses I see on billboards or hear on commercials/radio to visit when I’m online later and have time.
Does anyone know where/how to reinstall bbtasks on my curve? I deleted it thinking I would not use it, but yeah, now I want to!
I use it for tracking the miles I run. I also do the dvd thing like Jax. I dont watch a ton of tv but I will make a memo is there is a program I see advertise that I want to watch. I normally put that info in my calender as well. I also have a huge list of websites and products that I find in magazines and the radio. The funny thing is I rarely check the websites out.
Lists that stay on my Berry and are updated as needed;
-gift ideas for my wife(updated when she shows an interest in something that’ll make a good xmas/birthday/anniversary gift)
-books read
-”best albums” of the year
(I buy/download a lot of music and I buy/read a lot of books. I keep these lists for memory purposes when I do my yearly “best of” on my blog)
-books to buy
(Self explanatory)
Other than that I’ll keep memos for trips to the grocery store, etc that get deleted when they’ve served their purpose.
in short; I use the hell out of the memopad function
I like having my grocery list and list of books to check out from the library with me. But I find that it’s easier to type it in on my PC and then transfer it to my cell phone. Currently I’m using the free services from http://lists2go.mobi … so far I haven’t forgotten to buy all the ingredients to new recipes when shopping. Keeping a list of presents sounds like another good list to keep – I’ll type that one in next.
