Joe – I want to do this but I don’t think the feature is not on the 7290? I went to my bb account online and changed the “forward data to device” No more data came to my BB but the charges continued. Suggestions?

Cindy, you should still get text messages, but not MMS if you turn off data.

Tim, as long as you keep all apps closed — that is, hit Menu in them and select Close — then the only data you should be using is when you’re pushed new emails.

If I have a limited data plan and leave data services on all the time, will i be using data even if I’m not using applications?

@Gustavo — Are you on a BES connection for work? This sounds like a setting on a BES server that notifies the handheld. If you are on a BES, contact your IT department and inform them of what is happening.

every time I sinchronize my blackberry with my computer I receive thousands of emails confirming data transfer between my blackberry and a server. How can I stop this?

I use it all the time! I frequently speak in public and my BB radio signal always interferes with wireless microphones and/or speakers making an annoying noise.

I’ve always kept this at “off when roaming”.

For gaming, I just go into airplane mode.

Did you guys know from this same menu you can also do wings and dns hookups (at least in 4.7).
