We’ll start off the week with a simple tip, but a useful one. There are plenty of reasons to delete a particular contact’s call history. Sometimes you just don’t want anyone knowing you talked to a certain person. Thankfully, it’s easy on the BlackBerry. We’ll take you through it after the jump.
First you’ll go to your call log by hitting Send. Then scroll to the contact you wish to banish and hid the Menu button. There you’ll scroll down to Delete. This will not delete the contact, but rather will erase the call history you have with him or her. I’ve read on one forum or another that once you place another call to or receive another call from this contact your entire history re-spawns, but that didn’t happen to me. Anyone else notice this problem in the past. I’m running 4.5, if that helps.
If you really want to rid your BlackBerry of communication with someone, you might want to take another step. While the above will remove all call history with a contact, all of your other activity remains. This includes text messages both sent and received, and email. So go to your Address Book and view the contact in question. Then hit the Menu key and select Activity Log. Go all the way to the top of that list, highlighting the date, and hit the Menu button again. Select “Delete Prior”. This will wipe all history with this contact. In fact, it will even zap your call logs, so you can skip the first step (I guess the first step is useful if you only want to delete the call history).
