How to change the default email on your BlackBerry

How many email addresses do you have on your BlackBerry? I’ve got three. Yet, when I added them, my ‘Berry picked one as the default account to send mail from. It’s my work email, so it’s all good. Though every time I want to send something from my Gmail, I have to go switch the Send From field. Some people, I imagine, would like to change their default email address. After the jump we’ll go over the simple procedure.

Like many of our quick tips, this one will take you to Options, then Advanced Options. There you’ll click on Default Services. This takes you to a screen with two options: Messaging and Calendar. You can select your default services for each from among your synced email addresses.

i currently don’t have internet service but would like to set my email up before i get it so i don’t recieve any of my sisters emails.

17 Cooper September 13, 2010 at 1:49 pm: @Crystal Facebook does not really play well with the BlackBerry. It never has and I am not sure it ever will due to the intricacy of their platform and all its options/settings.

The first thing I suggest is to ensure that the primary email address you have assigned to your BlackBerry is also the email address assigned to your Facebook account. That should help with the profile pic situation.
18 Crystal September 13, 2010 at 12:12 pm: I also have three email addresses linked to my blackberry. The trouble I am having (and can’t seem to find anyone who knows the answer to), is that once I added my gmail account, the facebook photos disappeared from my contacts list as well as the photos of my bbm contacts. How do I get them back? I haven’t been able to do it through facebook app or by switching my email address default. My gmail account is listed as my “Contact Lists,” but I want my hotmail account as that, is there a way to do that?

You’ll have to login to your BIS account and view your email accounts. There’s an icon to delete an email address, and there’s a link to add one.

but when i write the TO address:
- to my friend’s office mail (the default changed to my office mail)
- to my friend’s gmail (the default changed to my email other than yahoo and office mail)

any clue?

27 Alison April 22, 2009 at 1:31 pm: I am on Verizon and up until last week my email account was fine, now it keeps using the blackberry.net account as default, even though my default is my personal email. I have to manually change it each time. Any clues?
