Deleting carrier crapware from your BlackBerry

How ’bout that Al Sacco? The man is just full of BlackBerry knowledge, and he shares all he knows over at CIO magazine. He had a tip earlier in the week, deleting carrier crapware, and it made me think of a few old posts of ours. Al explains the process thoroughly, but I’ll just link back for our purposes. If your carrier is pushing you applications you don’t want — for example, Verizon pushes me the Facebook quick launch — you can follow the instructions here. Of course, that means you have to do it every time you reset your BlackBerry, which can get to be a pain. If you want a one-off solution, you can hide the icons. It won’t delete them, of course, but you’ll never have to look at them again.

Some dev can make money by writing a crapware deleter that runs periodically.
