One feature which is highly useful is the ability to add folders. Just like on a desktop computer, you can add groupings for your applications, making them much easier to store. It also keeps the clutter off of your Applications Menu, always a plus. No one likes clutter, especially around spring cleaning time. Al Sacco, CIO’s BlackBerry guru, has walked through creating folders beyond the default ones: Applications, Games, Instant Messaging, and Downloads.
Once you’re in the Applications Menu, hit the Menu button. The bottom option should be Add Folder. Click that, and then name the folder. Then you can click the icon section and pick a color or graphic to differentiate the new folder from other ones.
Yes, it’s that easy. You can also edit the folder by scrolling over it, hitting the Menu key, and selecting Edit Folder.

Not sure which device you’re using, but I’ve been able to add folders to my Pearl 8130 since I got it and it was running 4.x. I’m currently running 4.5 and have the ability to add folders.
Doesn’t work on my 8900 either. Any suggestions from the guru?
You can add folders in OS 4.5… I’m pretty sure you could in 4.3 as well, but I won’t state my life on that. How the heck this even makes it on to a BlackBerry focused website is beyond me..
