Overview:
Stationed in Bellevue, Washington, T-Mobile is famous for its myFaves plans, which allow for unlimited calling to five numbers. It’s also known as a leading national carrier of wireless services, including data, voice and messaging. They assure their customers that they’ll offer the best coverage so that users can “stick together”.
Pros: T-Mobile’s data plans are some of the best in the industry – not only do they offer quite a few voice minutes that can be used wherever and whenever, but they also give users unlimited email from up to 10 accounts, unlimited Web browsing, domestic text and instant messaging, and no long-distance or roaming charges within the USA. As well, if you get a BlackBerry Enterprise plan, you get unlimited BES access. That’s excellent! The prices are pretty good, too.
Cons: If you go over your minutes, you’ll be charged $0.35 a minute, but T-Mobile gives you enough that this probably won’t happen often. International services are available, but you need to have an additional credit check first. You get 300 text messages with BlackBerry Unlimited, but if you go over, texts are $0.15 each.
Detailed Provider Information:
Voice Plan Options: T-Mobile has five BlackBerry plans. For the BlackBerry Minutes and Mail Enterprise plan, you get 1000 Whenever minutes per month, and it costs $69.99 a month. The BlackBerry Minutes and Mail Enterprise Ultra comes with 1500 monthly minutes and costs $89.99 a month. The BlackBerry Minutes and Mail Internet plan has 1000 monthly minutes and costs $59.99 a month, and the next step up, the BlackBerry Minutes and Mail Ultra plan has 1500 monthly minutes and costs $79.99 a month. The only plan that doesn’t have any voice minutes is the BlackBerry Unlimited, but it does have unlimited data and costs $39.99 a month.
Data Options: All BlackBerry plans have unlimited data per month.
Messaging Options: You get unlimited text messages and unlimited IMs with most T-Mobile BlackBerry plans.
Customer Service: T-Mobile has a knowledge base on their website that’s full of information on any and every plan. If you can’t find your answer there, you can log into your account and access My T-Mobile Support, which is a personalized help feature. If you still can’t get the answers you need, there is a contact link that will direct you to email or telephone support.
Contract: Most phones require a one or two-year contract. If you want to terminate your contract early, you must pay $200.
Messaging: Unlimited text messaging is provided with most BlackBerry plans from T-Mobile. With the BlackBerry Unlimited plan, you get 300 messages and extra messages are $0.15 each.
International Calling and Messaging: You can purchase an international calling plan, T-Mobile’s WorldClass International Service. This requires extra credit approval, but you can call outside of the USA with no monthly fee.
See Terms and Conditions here.
Roaming Charges: There are no domestic roaming charges on the BlackBerry plans.
Activation Fee: All plans include a one-time activation fee of $35.
Additional Features: You can get CallerTunes, which allows your callers to hear music, sound effects, or short spoken clips instead of ringing; Web Guard, which allows you to restrict access to over-18 material on your phone; and discounted long-distance to Mexico – when you pay $4.99 a month, you can make unlimited calls for $0.07 a minute to landlines and $0.26 to mobile phones.
Insurance: T-Mobile offers equipment protection, which is an additional warranty service. It protects your device against loss, theft or damage.
Phones: T-Mobile offers many stylish BlackBerry models, including the
Pearl Flip 8220. Actually, T-Mobile is one of the bigger companies, so they offer most of the current BlackBerry choices on the market.
Some Additional BlackBerry Models Available:
BlackBerry Pearl 81xx
BlackBerry 8700g
BlackBerry Curve
BlackBerry 8820

A few months ago I upgraded my phone to a BlackBerry with T-Mobile. It is one of the best moves I have ever made for my business. I can get my email on the go, talk to clients and just about anything else I need while away from my computer.
It was only $19.99 to add BlackBerry service. At the time of upgrading T-Mobile offered a $50 rebate which was also nice.
The process was easy peasy. I was able to order my new phone right online and I received it in five days. It was easy to set up and customer service was helpful when I called to add on internet service.
When filling out the rebate form online it said it would take 4-6 weeks to arrive but it was here in just under 2 weeks.
All in all, I am thrilled with my new BlackBerry and my service with T-Mobile.
I upgraded to the Blackberry Curve. It has been a great move for me. I had trouble getting a good signal at my office. But with the WIFI Hotspot@Home I can get calls while in the office via WIFI from my office. When I leave the office, it automatically changes over to t-moblie cell service. I also use no airtime if I start the call at my office & continue the conversation on the road. It is great! I also love the blackberry phone & plan with unlimited email & internet browsing.
I love T-Mobile in all honesty. The unlimited plan rocks and while I would complain about them charging me for international text messages when I have an "unlimited text messaging" plan, it is the only complaint I'd ever be able to come up with. I had the 8700. Customer support was great and the online account management was beyond easy. I had great coverage, even during my trips to Canada and Europe.
I upgraded to the blackberry curve and I have been impressed by t-mobile service and the BB data plans are not that bad.
Way to go t-mobile
I've had T-Mobile for 2 years now and recently upgraded to the Blackberry curve. I am very happy with them and will continue to be a customer of theres, Customer service is almost always the best, only real complaint I've had with them is they keep pushing the 3g network back so it seems like it will never come out. but with the blackberry that isn't to big of a deal anyway.
I Switched to T-Mobile when I needed an extra line for my daughter. With Verizon, I would be paying over $130/month for two lines. Also, Verizon does not have the Blackberry Selection that T-Mobile has. Now I pay under $100/month for two phone lines and unlimited internet and email on my new Blackberry Curve. I have had no problem with coverage so far. Honestly, I was skeptical at first to swith over to T-Mobile, but I am glad I did. I get better service, the same coverage, but a cheaper phone bill with 2 lines with t-mobile, than with 1 line with Verizon. Also, the My 5 Favs is AWESOME!
I love t-mobile ... except for when I am at home. Because I live in the country I barely get 3 bars. Its either 1 or 2. When im in the city its 3 or 4. but there is no t-mobile providers anywhere in my very small retarded lame ass city at all. When I'm In bigger cities like new orleans I get the max coverage. I'm thinking about moving that way anyway. :) Other thing that sucks is the use them or loose them thing with the minutes. I got the 600 min with the free nights and weekends. I don't even use all the 600 min. I wanted to downgrade to 300min a month, but they told me I would loose the free nights and only have free weekends. So that blows. I mainly text. I have the unlimited text. I pay 61.00 a month. for 600min and unlimited text. free nights and weekends. and the taxes and fees and whatnot. But I still love t-mobile even tho Im kinda getting a lil ripped off.
I have verizon now and am considering switching to t-mobile since they have a great bb selection and the plans are so much cheaper. Does anyone know how service is in the philadelphia area? I've heard mixed responses about t-mobiles coverage....
Been with T-Mobile 7 years. Their Customer service is great and it is what kept me here. They are always last to get the latest and greatest so if you are a gadget geek and like the newest there is this aint the place for you. The situation with the BB OS 4.5 is a joke. No one knows anything. AT&T releasing this week, all over Europe all ready released. Call T-Mobile all you will get is DUH!!!
I've been with tmobile for 3yrs now and I love it.I have 5 lines and 2 are blackberry phones with unlimited bb features. It is awesome and the applications I've added are the BOMB!I don't know how anyone can go without a bb!Myfaves, unlimited txt,3000 minutes,Ins.bb add on feature ROCKS!Can't wait to see the bb flip.Nothin beats the curve though.....
I luv t-mobile espacialy the unlimted. I have a sidekick LX and I luv texting on it.
I bought my blackberry 8320 curve last Xmas when they had a promo sale 1500 Whenever minutes per month 39.99 blackberry add on for 19.99 $59.98 a month now that's an awesome deal.
If anyone is look to buy a BB I would see if they have the same deal this hoilday season.
I switched to T-mobile for the bb wi-fi ability and other fetures. I find the coverage not as good as my Nextel in the back country and they were not great there anyhow. The wi-fi helps fill that gap and if on a major highway it works fine. Also works in Canada without international plan but the roaming can add up if you leave it on all the time. I have two phones on the plan and have more fetures that I use and pay less then with nextel. I love my bb too.
I changed from another carrier to t_mobile and I am just happy with my service now. Getting my text messages, emails and everything else for a affordable monthly rates on 3 phones has helped my budget big time!
T-Mobile You ROCK!!!!
I have been with T mobile for 7 years and used BB for most of that time, having beta tested the original RIM pager device.
The end is nigh!
The voice service coverage, lack of 3G, lack of anything apart from the current curve and irritating international voicemail pickup are driving me away.
Voice service coverage: the hotspot feature helps but they seemed to have developed this to the detriment of voice over the standard EDGE network. BB OS 4.5 is still not debugged for T-mobile and we have 5.0 come in 2009 - the folks at TM refuse to discuss.
3G: i joined T mobile for international service on data and email. This was unsurpassed but the others have caught and passed them. The lack of 3g in Japan and Korea is a gaping black hole for me.
Titanium curve 8230: I have had this for about a year. It came without any clipping device to attach to a belt. Its built for girls who are happy to keep in their hand bag - the girls in work with don't put in their handbags. Clip solutions have been disappointing. The best was a leatherette pouch with a magnetized close. That worked OK until the magnet failed (3 months) or the belt clip fractured (4-5 months). Next I tried a Speck skin that fits into a plastic belt clip. The problem with this is that any pressure on the bottom of the clip causes the blackberry to eject onto the ground. This typically occurs when you are getting into or out of a car - makes me look for my handbag ...
The titanium thing makes it tough - maybe. It bounces but gets scratched. While the titanium casing is tough, the hub around the track is not. If you drop the BB and the hub gets a crack in it you are doomed - the track ball falls out with the least provocation. Visits to 4 t-mobile stores failed to produce a fix and usually resulted in a gormless, wide-eyed look from the person on the desk. Calls to the t-mobile BB center - please give me your CC number for a $300 replacement! I am already not happy with it, i want a model that addresses some of my needs. This problem is not unique to me, 2 others in our office have had the same problem - its a DESIGN FAULT with this version of curve that has been addressed with the curve 8900 and the bold - neither available to T-mobile in North America.
Voice mail - after 4 years of trying to fix i can not access my VM from outside of North America - a VM design glitch they have been working on at T-mobile for that length of time.
Next week I get a BB bold with ATandT. We will see.
T-Mobile compared to AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint/Nextel, is better than all 3 of those carrier's in Customer Service, as well as Business Customer Service, no automated systems, a direct highly knowledged Rep. T-Mobile's coverage is just as good or much better than the other top 3 carrier's as there is a difference between perception and reality. Now with T-Mobile's ability to provide FULL Coverage in any home or office, anywhere nationwide, with an internet connection and wireless router, which T-Mo will provide the router, and who doesn't have internet; best part is its free, and they are the only carrier to offer voice over Wi-Fi calling on their BB's. I am on the NEW 8900 Curve II, and compared to the Bold or Storm, it is better in every way! Including Coverage and free international calling from any country back to the USA via their UMA technology built in to ALL of T-Mo's BB's. T-Mobile ranked #1 by CR survey for 2009 already, keep up the good work T-Mobile!
T-Mobile's coverage is the same if not MUCH better than the other big 3 carrier's. Anyone reading this needs to know the difference between perception and reality, T-Mobile is the ONLY wireless carrier that doesn't boast about their coverage on TV, and they don't need to either.you can go on their main website and get a true coverage map that in every instance I have used it when traveling, it under
sell some free software for blackberry 8100
T-mobile is horrible for business users or if you call on the go. I have more dropped calls from this service than any other I've used. My company pays for it so I don't have a choice. I constantly get drops when the phone is switching from one cell tower to the next when driving. T-mobile admitted to me that they have a problem with their software that switches you from tower to tower. Notice your bars going low and the call drops then immediately your bars are full. This happens all the time with them. No service at home and weak signal in Houston in many areas. Anywhere you cross beltway 8 you will always drop a call.
T-mobile sucks!
i just got my BB hooked up but my email is messing up. but everything else is fine
i like tmobile!!!!!!!!!!
I cant get Outlook to work for emails which bites. Someone at RIM must know the problem cant keep on putting it off with Apple biting at your A--
From day 1 I have had problems with T-Mobile, that have been corrected after hours on the phone. I recently upgraded 2 of the 5 phones I have to Blackberrys. My issue now is that I have a curve and a 8900. Using my Razor I used to be able to log into Yahoo IM and Aim and could send messages as standard txt messages. Now with the Black berries the only way to do that is to subscribe to the data plan at ~$25 for each phone. Not even a family plan version of this yet. So I upgraded my phones, to get a reduction for service. If I want what I already had available, I have to pay more. If I had an older blackberry there is a service that they can add to my account to give that service back to me, but guess what? It doesn't work with my new blackberries. Go figure.
I had t-mobile for over 9 years, the customer service is great. I have 5 lines and i being wanting to get an i-phone, however checking prices, i realized what great plan i have with t-mobile and the savings is incredible. I am paying about 220.00 per month which includes a Blackberry and services plus for other lines. I have the family plan which includes unlimited text, 1800 minutes, my faves, internet, mobile to mobile, and i can set limits on text, and minutes on my phones. I know that they say that t-mobile drops signals but in my 9 years with them, that has not been a problem.
I switched back from Verzion (BB Storm) to T-Mobile (BB Curve8900)and couldn't be happier! I love T-Mobile and I love my curve. of all the cell phone providers I've been with (sprint, AT&T, Verizon) T-Mobile has been the one I went back to...they have the best customer service reps when you have technical issues or just a simple question. My phone is awesome! Besides how sexy it looks, its sleek and light. The keys are easy to press for texting, emails, Instant messaging etc...the camera on this curve is clear and very honest (lol). The battery life can be a little better, but other than that I have no complaints! I am a very happy customer.
i love tmobile
i have been with it ever since i got my first phone!
i hate my blackberry because i could never find themes for it and let me tell you it sucks because i don't want to buy them because the ones you buy sucks so much
