Are you ready to rock your BlackBerry in style? Maybe you already do, but RIM wants to make sure that you know exactly how stylish, or unstylish, your BlackBerry really is. Yes, I’m talking about the clamshell, the BlackBerry Style. Plenty to say on that on today’s Geekcast.

Highlights include:
We’ve seen a number of regional carriers pick up BlackBerry devices for their prepaid services, but we haven’t seen too much of that from major carriers. Verizon wants to change all that. This week they announced that basically their entire postpaid selection was available on prepaid. That includes their BlackBerry devices. The data plan and messaging prices are the same as postpaid, while the requisite voice plan is $5 more expensive per month. That’s not a bad deal.
And then we get to the Style, the clamshell 9670. Once a device proponent, I’m now second guessing myself. It just looks so…unappealing. I think RIM could have done a number of things instead of this, which makes it worse. If this was the next logical idea and it didn’t work, OK. But I can think of a few different form factors they could have tried that I believe would have worked better.
