As usual, the show is mostly about the new BlackBerry models set to hit later this year or early next year. We dish some dirt on the Storm, and on the Javelin. Hint, it won’t be called the Javelin anymore. Why is it that every time we get used to calling a new model by a certain name, they go and change it on us?

Highlights include:
We get the final specs on the Storm, though we knew most of them anyway. It shares the same display as the iPhone, though AT&T is claiming that it does not have Multi-Touch technology. The leaked spec sheet, however, says otherwise. Sorry, AT&T. You’ll have to find some other way to smear the BlackBerry.
It will obviously be hitting Verizon on an exclusive deal. We also learned that it will be hitting Vodafone in the UK, though BGR had that rumor when they first rolled it out back in May. As for Canada, Bell looks to be the winner. We’ve heard rumors of a GSM-only version of the Storm, too. That might come out after Bell’s six-month exclusive runs out.
First it was the Meteor, then it was the Bold. First is was the Thunder, then it was the Storm. First it was the Kickstart, then it was the Pearl. RIM likes to change things up on us, it seems. It happened again. The BlackBerry Javelin is now just another name that will never see the light of day. It will be branded as the Curve 8900. I guess RIM’s marketing department favors familiarity over cool-sounding names.

I’m pretty sure the marketing piece I got from Verizon about the Storm said it was a multi-touch screen. It showed a picture but didn’t say much else.
That’s good news about the camera though!
