BBGeekcast: September 19, 2008 – Episode 30

Posted by Joe on September 19, 2008 | no comment | Filed under : BlackBerry Podcasts

A change of format for BBGeeks this week. You might notice that while news on the BlackBerry Storm ran rampant through the Internets this week, there wasn’t much after Monday on BBGeeks. That’s because we’re moving most of that to the podcast. This way, I won’t be regurgitating the blog to you every Friday. So we get into the Storm, the Pearl, and a ::gasp:: possible

So click on over here to hear the BBGeekcast (9 min, 24 sec)

And don’t forget to subscribe to the podcast so you won’t miss future episodes!

You can also subscribe to the BBGeekcast in iTunes.

Highlights include:

The big news of the week was the Verizon viral marketing campaign for the Storm. However, a bit of news from Thursday took precedence. According to a recently-updated AT&T sheet, we might not be seeing the Bold until freaking November. No one is happy about this. In fact, we could see looting at AT&T stores if this proves true. Thankfully, it’s just a rumor, and the source, Boy Genius Report, is sticking to their prediction of October 2.

How much would you pay for a pre-release BlackBerry Javelin? $17,100? Someone bid that much on eBay. Chances of that bill being paid? Slim, I would think.

Kevin also informed us of Rogers Pearl release parties, schedule to run from Sept. 23 through Oct. 2. They had these scheduled for the Bold, too. That was back in July. When did Rogers release the Bold again? Hopefully, they’re not going for a repeat performance.
