Today we dedicate most of the show to TheStreet.com writer Gary Krakow, who was vocal in his displeasure with the BlackBerry trackball. It appears that his doesn’t work after six months of use, and the same is true for many of his colleagues. That’s fine — no gadget is perfect. Yet he claimed to find little or no support on the Web. As I proved on the blog this morning, it’s quite easy to find information on cleaning your BlackBerry trackball.

As mentioned, most of the time is spent talking about the complaints against the trackball. I personally love it. I love it even more on the Bold, where it acts as a mouse as well as a scroll feature on Web pages. It’s a small part, so it’s apt to malfunction at some point. Thankfully, there aren’t a whole ton of mechanics behind it, and you can fix most problems by popping it out and cleaning it.
We also run down the latest ring of rumors surrounding the new devices. This includes the multiple rumors about the Bold (please, October 20), the Pearl 8220, and the Storm. Though the Storm isn’t about release date — we pretty much have an idea it will be early November — but about the battle for Canada. Bell or Telus? We’ll find out soon enough, I suppose.
