The Consumer Electronics Show ran this week, and we got a BlackBerry announcement out of it. Plus, there’s a new rumor going around about the CDMA Bold…which has a feature you wouldn’t expect for a CDMA phone, and which is slated for a carrier you might not expect.

Highlights include:

Yes, T-Mobile has picked up the Blackberry Curve 8900. We’ve talked about this device plenty, so describing it would just be a rehash. The current rumor is a February 11 release date, but as we know that can change. T-Mo has publicly said February, so it’s as good a rumor as any. Could it be that the decision to go with T-Mobile over AT&T had to do with the latter’s decision to downgrade their 2G frequency?

As for that CDMA Bold, code name Niagra, it appears headed to Sprint. The rumors have it including WiFi, which one wouldn’t expect from a CDMA phone. Perhaps Verizon won’t get its paws on this one for a few more months. After all, they’re busy pimping the Storm.

Oh, and President Elect Obama doesn’t want to give up his BlackBerry. This issue first came up shortly after the election, and hasn’t quite gone away yet. Security and archiving forces signal that, like his predecessor, he will have to surrender it upon inauguration. We’ll see in two weeks.
