We saw a recent video of the Pearl 9100 surface this week — and because a recent CrackBerry post showed up on the device’s screen, we know it was shot this week. Could that mean it’s in the offing? I think so, but there are signs to the contrary. For instance, RIM had the video removed sometime before this morning. They did that with the Storm 2 over the summer, and then released it in November. I don’t think this is the case for the Pearl 2, however. Too much evidence points to an imminent release.
The other main story on the ledger: OS 5.0. I talk about RIM releasing the OS build to the carriers, but the carriers not releasing it to users. Is that the carriers’ faults? Perhaps, but it’s also RIM’s job to deliver a working version of the OS. If they didn’t completely hold up the end of the bargain on that end, the blame should fall on RIM.

I just got back from CES yesterday. WiPower and some other wireless charging companies have made some pretty awesome skins for BlackBerry’s. It’s pretty cool stuff, I can’t wait to get my hands on one.
