It’s all about the new BlackBerry models. During the week, we got some info on the Thunder, the Bold, and a ton on the Javelin and the new iDEN Nextel BlackBerry (8350i). I give a rundown of these, and how they fit into the grander scheme. Hey, RIM increased their U.S. marketshare to 10 percent. These new babies will only boost that number.

Along with the Kickstart, it appears that RIM has an entire new generation of smartphones, all aimed at different market niches. It could play out rather well for them. Instead of taking one device and trying to have it appeal to everyone, they’re creating a ton of devices and trying to see where they fit in. Sounds like a Long Tail strategy to me.
