BBGeekcast: August 1, 2008 – Episode 23

Posted by Joe on August 1, 2008

In the first of our listener guest spots, I talk with Jeremy of ShoeMoney Media. He recounts his problems with the Treo, which nearly led him to leave Sprint. But his rep made him an offer he couldn’t refuse, and that’s how he was turned onto the BlackBerry. We also run down the rumors of the week. Like Rae, our ultimate BBGeek, Jeremy isn’t too excited for the BlackBerry Thunder.

Highlights include:

The latest rumor is that the BlackBerry Thunder will drop on October 8th. That, of course, assumes no delays. We’ve seen plenty already with the Bold, so I’d expect this closer to November.

You can walk and chew gum, but can you walk and text? Doctors say it’s leading to more ER visits. I can’t condemn these people. I do this all the time without even noticing it. I’ve also been known to change the track on my iPod while crossing the street, which is totally avoidable.

See, I told you there wasn’t much news to talk about. So to get your fill make sure to check out our bits on Zumobi mobile tiles, trimming the fat from your BlackBerry, and saving your battery life. Until next week…
