Hello? Alltel? Where’s the Curve? We ask that question, among others, in this week’s BBGeekcast. I’m joined by Dave, a BlackBerry expert, later in the show to discuss BlackBerry Professional Software. It’s a nice primer for those who are unfamiliar with the benefits it has for small businesses.

Highlights include:
We hit on the T-Mobile Pearl release. Old news, yes. But at least it was released on time. And if you’re looking for an Alltel Curve release, don’t hold your breath.
Book nerd like me? Check out Mobipocket’s new over the air e-book store. No more Brickbreaker for me while my train is delayed getting into Penn Station.
Text more than you talk? Use your thumbs more than your lips? Verizon’s got a messaging-only plan for BlackBerry. It’s 25 cents a minute for voice, but when you’ve got your thumbs, who needs it?
A couple of rumors for the 9000 series. First is a front-facing camera for video conferencing. The other is that a 9100 model will shortly follow the 9000. Once again, these are just rumors to keep your hunger satisfied. I’m better that at least one of these is a farce.
And finally, I talk to Dave about BlackBerry Professional Software.

Hey Joe, I wasn’t able to pull the mp3 down from the blog post.
I did manage to snag if directly from this URL though, http://www.bbgeeks.com/podcast/.
Not sure. I tried 3 times in both Firefox and IE, but only the directory listing worked. Hmm.
Fixed. Apparently, caps DO count.
I get the message below when I try to listen to the podcast. I’ve tried several times to no avail.

[...] Mobility now has BlackBerry Unite! software. Dave talked about this in the podcast a couple of weeks ago. It’s a great way for small groups to share calendars and documents. [...]
