It’s always a good week for the BBGeekcast when the device rumors roll in. We have plenty of that to discuss this week. It looks like 2009 could be a big year for RIM, as we have four major devices to talk about, plus a line of low-end phones.

Highlights include:

The Storm 2! The rumors started early in the week and gained some steam when a Netherlands RIM rep pretty much confirmed it. Since then speculation has run rampant, with features like a better touch screen, a 5 MP camera, Wi-Fi, and even a slider keyboard being discussed. While it’s doubtful that the Storm 2 will feature the slider, the other features are probable. Looks like Verizon wants to snatch up all the people who passed on the first version.

Then we have a rumor of three GSM devices, though one might just be a T-Mobile (i.e., UMA-enabled) version of another. They’re all 3G, which is a good sign, since no one should be manufacturing 2G phones at this point. One has to wonder if this will include the long-rumored Bold touchscreen.
