With BB OS v4.3, there were bound to be some minor upgrades to your BlackBerry’s functionality. Well, we found one. Okay, so Crackberry found it, and we’re just latching on. Anyway, OS 4.3.1 will allow you to record video as well as still images if you’re lucky enough to have a BlackBerry with a camera. So this means you, Curve users.
The 4.3.1 upgrade should be available by the end of the year, and will be compatible with all models 8700 and up. Unfortunately, the video recording won’t be available on all models. With the 8700/8800, it’s a simple matter of actually having a camera. The Pearl 8100 doesn’t appear to have video capabilities, either, so the Curve is the beneficiary of this feature.
However, all phones with OS 4.3 will have a new voice recording feature. That’ll be neat. You can record notes to yourself while appearing to be on the phone.
We’re sure there will be a few more goodies in OS 4.3. We’re sure we’ll discuss it more once it is released.
