where is the do not disturb mode on a 8330?

BBGeeks Answered:

You can access the Do Not Disturb settings in your BlackBerry 8330 by locating the Profiles icon and clicking it. When the menu appears scroll all the way down to advanced and click it. You can then select and customize your Do Not Disturb settings for each individual profile.

Your BlackBerry will not alert you for any of the actions you have set to DND. Ie. If SMS is set to DND in your normal profile then you will not receive any notifications when that particular profile is active.

Do I have to pay for uber twitter ? If I get uber twitter do I have to get rid of twitterberry?

BBGeeks Answered:

There are two versions of Uber twitter available. The first is a free version that is ad supported while a paid version is also available for $5.00 with no ads.

It is absolutely possible to keep both Uber Twitter and TwitterBerry (OpenBeak) on your device at the same time but with Uber Twitters option to manage multiple accounts there is really no need to.

BBGeeks Answered:

I wiped my 8310 and want to update the software but do not have a PC I have Mac, what is best way to do so?

BBGeeks Answered:

Definitely grab the recently released BlackBerry Desktop manager for Mac. If that is not an option for some reason then find a friend with a PC laptop that they don’t mind lending you for an hour or two.

BBGeeks Answered:

If you are not liking the new Opera Mini you might like the Bolt browser as an alternative to the default browser. As far as the links acting funny after the uninstall, simply do a battery pull and they should be back to normal once your device reboots.

What is the best app to bypass the 160 character limit for text messages on the tour…?

BBGeeks Answered:

The problem with sending SMS messages is that each different carrier handles them differently. Some will limit you to 160 characters per SMS message and some will allow you to text as much as you want. The reality is that those carriers that allow the longer texts don’t actually allow longer text messages but rather split long messages into multiple parts before sending.

For those that are prevented from sending the longer messages in parts I highly suggest buying the Beyond160 application which will send longer messages in parts.

Of all the Twitter clients you have reviewed – which would you say is the best? Why?

There are plenty of Twitter applications available for the BlackBerry, with more being released every week. It can be difficult to choose which one is the best but one particular application has pulled ahead of the pack.

BBGeeks Answered:

Uber Twitter is by far the best Twitter application available for the BlackBerry. They provide a full featured application that allows for most of the web based functionality of Twitter. Aside from having a quality product, Uber Twitter has shown a dedication to their users by providing great support and continuous advancement with regards to upgrades.

The Uber Twitter application is free in an ad supported format but also available ad free for $5. Check out our Uber Twitter review here.

Is there anyway to get flash so I can watch videos on my 8330? This WAS the 1 thing I loved abut the Tour (full browser)

Ahh the age old quest to get Flash on the BlackBerry. This is one question that comes up alot.

BBGeeks Answered:

There is currently no Flash support on the BlackBerry as the hardware limitations will not support the native Flash software. Flash is meant to run on systems with massive RAM allocation. It leaks quite a bit and is therefore not feasible for handheld devices with limited internal memory.

There are plans in the works to bring Flash to the BlackBerry but that is still a ways off. In the meanwhile you can download the Bolt Browser or the Vision application for increased ability to view Youtube videos etc.

How do other Blackberry users keep their screen from getting scratched?

Scratches and dings on your BlackBerry screen and device body are common place. They are often unavoidable when throwing your phone in your bag with keys and coins etc.

BBGeeks Answered:

There is a great product available for the majority of BlackBerry models on the market. The product is called BodyGuardz and it provides an all over protective skin for your device that works wonders to prevent all kinds of scratches and dirt issues that may affect your BlackBerry.

How can I unlock the Verizon Blackberry Storm and use it for T-mobile?

It seems like everybody wants to unloc their BlackBery devices so they can use them on different networks. Unlocking is not something that we promote very heavily on BBGeeks.com but on occasion we point folks in the right direction.

BBGeeks Answered:

The Storm is one device that is tied to Verizon but should really be open to all networks. Verizon is ok with unlocking the BlackBerry Storm and even provides a phone number that you can call to get your unlock code. Read this post on CrackBerry to get the details.

How do I backup my phone? I wanna backup all my contacts, bb contacts, etc..

Along with upgrading your BlackBerry Operating System, backing up your data is one of the most impotant processes you can carry out.

BBGeeks Answered:

The first point in your BlackBerry Backup process is always Desktop Manager. Here is a guide to installing Desktop Manager. Once you have that installed you can use various settings to choose what gets backed up and what is not so important.

One other thing to concern is backing up your 3rd Party applications as they are not included in the standard backup. Read here for information on backing up your 3rd Party BlackBerry applications.

My Bold wont let me add music to my internal drive, help me please!

This can be confusing for folks who do not know much about the inner workings of the BlackBerry. It would make sense that you could just drag and drop your files onto your BlackBerry. That is how you transfer files right?

BBGeeks Answered:

The real trick to easily transferring your music to your BlackBerry (Bold or otherwise) is to enable Mass Storage Mode. In order to enable the Mass Storage Mode on your device just follow these simple steps. The result will be a pop up that appears when your BlackBerry is connected to your computer via USB cable – asking you to enable the MSM functionality. Once enabled you can access the internal drive of your BlackBerry just as you would any other folder on your computer. Just drag and drop.

I am getting a weird message on bb tour when I try to charge on mac. Something abt usb driver. Thoughts?

we had to clarify what error message was being displayed upon connect
“error: make sure device charge source if fully powered. Device may not charge correctly USB drive 4 charge is missing (pretty much)”

BBGeeks Answered:

Install Missing Sync from http://www.markspace.com/ – it will update your usb drivers so that they send out the proper charge.

The issue is that a BlackBerry relies upon a piece of software (the Windows driver, for instance) to detect when a BB is plugged in and dynamically adjust the USB current on that port from 100mA to 500mA. On Windows this is the Device Manager install portion (which installs the driver), a Mac needs Pocket Mac, and linux now has ‘bcharge’ (there is also a new kernel module ‘berry_charge’ in the upcoming 2.6.21 release.)

They are a very effective method for distributing product information and contact infomation.

Somehow I changed an option on a BB8900, now when I am in the phone application it only lists missed calls, no sent/rec calls? Help!

Erytime I go to my camera it says couldn’t start camera, close other applications … anyone know how to fix it or what’s wrong with it?

Quite often things start to glitch out on the BlackBerry devices when you approach the minimum free memory threshold.

BBGeeks Answered:

Your camera is messing up because there is not enough memory to run it. Not that the error message indicates that though. The solution is to reduce your used memory. We have a post that offers some tips for doing just that here.

Ifyou have alread taken those steps, the camera issue can usually be fixed with a simple battery pull.

Is there an application that let’s you change the color of your trackball for OS 4.5 and higher on the 8100

There was a popular application for Pearl owners pre OS 4.5 called Color Pearl that allowed for the manipulation of the LED underneath the Pearl 8100 trackball. Unfortunately the app stopped working with OS upgrades.

BBGeeks Answered:

There is definitely an app that has been made that brings colored trackballs to the masses of BlackBerry Pearl 8100 owners who have upgraded to OS 4.5. The app is called Bling Ball and functions in a similar fashion to the previous Color pearl apps. Bling Ball can be downloaded from the eVeek forums after registering as a user.

I have a BlackBerry and I am thinking about getting a Twitter application so that I can tweet on the go. Do you have any suggestions and is it a difficult process for a technically challenged individual?

It seems like a new Twitter application is being released every week, with the latest and greatest featuring new ways of interacting with your followers. The initial batch of applications was somewhat lacking in functionality but the new generation of BlackBerry Twitter applications is definitely worth a look.

BBGeeks Answered:

I would suggest checking out Uber Twitter for your BlackBerry Twitter application of choice. You can download the application right to your BlackBerry from http://www.ubertwitter.com. For a better understanding of what can be done with Uber Twitter you can check out our Complete Guide to Uber Twitter.

Where can I get the cheapest plan for a BlackBerry? I have horrible service with Sprint and have recently ended my contract with them.

This question is another one that gets asked quite often. The reality is that you have to look at more than price when deciding which plan and service provider to sign up with for your BlackBerry plan.

BBGeeks Answered:

I suggest checking out all of the BlackBerry Service Providers we have reviewed on BBGeeks in order to get a good feeling for what each one offers. Since the service with Sprint has not really been up to par it is also important to check out the coverage maps for each provider. The coverage maps for individual BlackBerry service providers can be found at the bottom of each review.

I need a Flash equivalent for my BlackBerry Bold! Help!

Flash has been the elusive holy grail for BlackBerry owners who seek to have a fully functional browsing experience with their device. Unfortunately Flash is not coming any time soon =(

BBGeeks Answered:

You are not alone in your search for Flash or a Flash browsing alternative for the BlackBerry. There is only one company that we know of that is making headway in bringing Flash functionality to the BlackBerry browser. The company is SkyFire and they are looking to bring their browser to the BlackBerry soon. Of course I have been hearing that for many months now and still no SkyFire. We will all have to wait patiently and hope for the best.

I downloaded the new BlackBerry messenger 5.0 for the Storm today. When I rebooted my BlackBerry I lost the BBM icon altogether. . .HELP!

The 5.0 version of the BlackBerry Messenger software leaked online a short while ago and BlackBerry owners went on a downloading frenzy to get the latest and greatest app from RIM. The problem (as with all leaks) is that it was bound to wreak havok on a large portion of the devices that were not up to spec for the release.

BBGeeks Answered:

There is definitely a recovery process that you can go through to restore the original BlackBerry Messenger application onto your device. We posted a handy guide to restoring your BlackBerry Messenger after a failed BBM 5.0 install that is worth a look if you have managed to lose your BBM icon. The post contains instructions on how to recover using BlackBerry Desktop Manager as well as an OTA link for the BBM 4.5 download.

How do I find my BBM PIN# on my BlackBerry?

Once upon a time people would only trade PIN information with business contacts who als had a BlackBerry. We are now seeing a number of PIN swapping sites gaining momentum that have people reaching out in a whole new way. For the record, BBGeeks LOVES that!

BBGeeks Answered:

In order to find your BlackBerry PIN you must do one of the following. Either type “mypin” without the quotes into an email, note or sms or go to options > status and look at the third line for your PIN information. The first method will convert the word mypin into your actual pin number as a result of default auto text settings.

What are your thoughts on the best free and pay apps available for the BlackBerry at the moment?

This is a topic that we love to discuss and surprisingly, over the past year or so the answer has not really changed too much.

BBGeeks Answered:

When it comes to free BlackBerry applications I usually suggest that people check out one of our two rounds of free BlackBerry apps posts (they are cross linked for your convenience). Those two posts, along with user comments cover some of the best freely available software out for your BlackBerry. Included on the list are Yahoo Go! and Viigo. Both are completely free but worth mega bucks if you ask me.

As for paid BlackBerry software, I suggested IntelliLaunch and Sim Detective as my two favorite paid apps of the moment.

On behalf of @Loyiso, why can’t Storm users open or download PDF documents to their phone?

The reality is that Storm users can open PDF on their device but only when attached to emails. The problem arises when those emailed PDFs need to be zoomed to be viewed in any legible format. Out of the box, the Storm’s support of the PDF file format is lacking but not non-existant.

BBGeeks Answered:

I would suggest checking out a program called BeamReader or the Premium edition of Documents2Go if you are looking for improved PDF viewing functionality on your BlackBerry Storm.

Is there a way to select mulitple files at once to attach to an email? I hate having to dig through my SD card one-by-one.

Ahh, the longstanding feud between BlackBerry and message/ email attachmnets.

BBGeeks Answered:

This is something that I wish RIM would act upon with a future os upgrade. It is absolutely silly to have a device that is geared so heavily towards email activity/management yet does not allow for the attachment of multiple files to an email at once. Actually it will allow more than one attachment, but it will not allow the selection and attaching of more than one document at a time. For people who wish to have the ability to select multiple files at a time for any reason, I suggest checking out File Manager pro.

When these two resources are prepared to offer Storm themes we will see them flooding the web.

Is there an app for the BlackBerry that uses the camera to scan a normal upc and can port that to a mobile friendly price search.

BBGeeks Answered:

This was a new concept for us as far a BlackBerry usage is concerned. Once it was brought to our attention though it made perfect sense to be able to snap a picture with your camera and have the product recognized and cross referenced in some type of pricing guide. Can you imagine all the ultra savvy shoppers?

we did a bit of searching and came up with a couple possible solutions. The first was Neoreader adn the second one was a program called Shop Savvy.

conedude13 weighed in with his opinion of Neoreader and said it was really not worth while after all and unfortunately the Shop Savvy application for BlackBerry devices is still in the works.

I deleted version 6 (TwitterBerry) from 8100 Pearl downloaded 8 and get error message. I deleted bb cache, did over, same error! WHAT can I do?

BBGeeks Answered:

we looked high and low for an older copy of version 6 of TwitterBerry for RobinBryce but we couldn’t track it down anywhere. We suggested updating her firmware as the errors might have to do with some type of incompatibility between an older OS and the most recent version of TwitterBerry. This conversation evolved into finding out how she could get an OS upgrade without having the Desktop Manager software or a PC to run it on.

Since in many cases it is not possible to upgrade your BlackBerry OS OTA, our suggestion was to either buy a ultra cheap PC for this purpose only or to set up a Windows installation on her Mac using Parallels or VMware Fusion. One other possible solution would be to take your BlackBerry into an authorized dealer with a tech support member on site that could perform the OS upgrade for you.

For most BlackBerry devices you will be able to disable your data transmissions in the event that you are traveling far from home and do not wish to incur the extortion rates of international roaming. For some carriers however this option is not available.

Out of town travel is a concern for many BlackBerry owners. When traveling to far off lands, the possibility of incurring massive cellular bills is a real issue.

BBGeeks Answered:

Sure do =) – on your BlackBerry go to – Options > Mobile Network > Data Service and change the setting to “off”. This will disable all of your data connections on your device while still allowing for SMS and MMS messaging to take place.

I have a bb question – how do I find out what might be draining my battery if I notice unusual drain? I have 8310 curve
Battery drain is one of the issues that plagues BlackBerry devices. There are a number of ways to combat it but the issue is most likely here to stay.

BBGeeks Answered:

After a little bit of back and forth with cjweb we tried to rule out a few issues like constant data transfer or signal seeking. cjweb could not specifically identify these as possible causes (hint: to look out for this symptom check out the upload/download arrows in the top right corner of your device. If they are always moving you may have an issue.)

Ultimately we decided that the problem was most likely being caused by third party applications running in the background. A good practice is to use the escape key when exiting programs on your BlackBerry as some apps will not really close unless exited correctly. This will cause them to remain active in the background and drain your battery. Another good practice is to not use the application switcher too often and run as few programs as possible at any given time.

we suggested trying out a product called AutoStandby which allows for your BlackBerry to be put into pseudo holster mode after a specified period of inactivity.

My 8330’s GPS hasn’t worked in a week. What can I do to get it to find satellites?
It seems that arwild01 is running into a few glitches with his BlackBerry GPS functionality. One minute the GPS was working fine and the next minute nothing . . .

BBGeeks Answered:

This is a tough one to diagnose remotely. There could be any number of settings or device options that could lead to your GPS being disabled by accident. We suggested doing a hard battery pull.
(Remove your battery while the app is running – wait 30 secs then power on again).

arwild01 responded back after pulling the battery like we suggested. His GPS is now reported as working fine.

BBGeeks Answered:

TwitterBerry is messing up! Please retweet so BBGeeks can d islandidea me. Thank you.
islandidea was not following us at the time she made this request to the Twitter universe, but we managed to stumble across her pleas for help anyways (we really do try our best to help everyone).

It turns out that islandidea’s TwitterBerry app had stopped recognizing any links within the tweets she had received. After a little bit of back and forth through DM we ultimately suggested doing a fresh install of the current version of TwitterBerry and then an upgrade to the latest release overtop of it.

islandidea reported back to us that everything “fixed” itself after leaving the device powered off for an extended period of time. This leads us to believe that a hard battery pull would have more than likely solved the issue immediately.

dferrari said:

why can’t I turn the key tone off on my BlackBerry when I’m dialing a number?
This is a common question from the BlackBerry community and one that we have not seen a concrete answer for. We assume it has something to do with accessibility and how the phone works with the network etc.

BBGeeks Answered:

Unfortunately this can’t be done. One alternative you could utilize would be to type the number into a note and then click on the number in the note to dial silently. Admittedly this is not very practical.

dferrari tweeted back that yes in fact this was less than optimal but dialing from the note pad could in fact be handy in certain situations and was something she had never considered.

I have a BB Curve 8310 with AT&T. Why do my text messages get erased? Do I need to specifically save them?

cjweb asked a very common question which has to do with text messages and call logs being erased from their BlackBerry at seemingly random intervals.

BBGeeks answered:

This issue is caused by a flaw in the BlackBerry architecture that makes the device clear up space when internal memory is running low.
Your texts get erased when you have too much of your internal memory used up by ringtones, pictures or any number of things really. We suggested checking out the article posted on BBGeeks entitled 8 ways to trim the fat from your BlackBerry in which we show explain in detail how to free up a massive amount of internal memory on your device.

Does RIM have any BB that combine a GPS or possibly GPS and Heart rate? Think BB + Garmin?
With the addition of GPS functionality in some of the more recent BlackBerry models, people are looking to see what other creative uses they can make of the device aside from just spotting your location on Google maps.

BBGeeks answered:

Unfortunately there is no existing application for the BlackBerry that will give you the functionality you require. That being said, there have been some developments made that could allow for this type of usage in the future. In particular, RIM has partnered with Wilfred Laurier University and the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and are doing great things.

Is there a BlackBerry Twitter app that will autoupdate and geolocate?
This is a great question. With the sudden popularity of Twitter, it was only a matter of time before a range of applications were made available for the BlackBerry that would allow you to interact with your account. With each new entry into the field, the functionality keeps expanding allowing users to do more and more from their BlackBerry devices.

BBGeeks answered:

There is in fact a Twitter application for the BlackBerry that allows you to transmit geo location information when using a GPS enabled device. The application is called Twibble and can be downloaded here: Twibble.de or through their mobile link http://m.twibble.de/.

Once we tweeted our findings to jdub71, we received a number of messages from other followers who had attempted to use the Twibble service. Unfortunately, each of them had little to no success getting the application to function properly on their BlackBerry devices. EKBeasley and mcdent both reported hang ups and frozen screens. Once we had this valuable input we decided that while the Twibble application does indeed have good intentions, they need to do a little bit more work on the BlackBerry platform before their application will be of any use to the community.

I have a question…have any hookups for a bold?? :)
On the speculated release date for the BlackBery Bold in Canada, emotions ran high and people wanted to know where to find them. Funny thing was, they were not in any of the Rogers store locations . . .

BBGeeks answered:

After calling around a few days prior to the release of the BlackBerry Bold, the common opinion by store representatives was that they were unsure as to whether or not they would be getting any of the devices to put on the shelves. This story continued right up to the day of the so called launch where no stores anywhere had a physical product to sell. The thing is, on the Rogers website the device was listed as available.

We decided to call the Rogers customer service line at 1.888.764.3771 and found out that the Bold was indeed available and you could have one sent out to you in 3-5 business days. Once we shared this information with our readers and Twitter followers, we received a number of responses which indicated they had all ordered a device right away! Unfortunately the Bold was not made available to the US market at the same time, so our neighbors to the south were still awaiting news of their release date.

I often visit bb.com to download apps, but the download option doesn’t appear on Curve’s browser. Any ideas as to why?
One of the areas that RIM has always been trailing in when compared to other smart phones is browsing. Despite having one of the best devices on the market, the clumsy browsing always casts a shadow over all of their other significant achievements.

BBGeeks answered:

While we did not find any definitive reference as to why coplandmj’s Curve was not displaying the appropriate download links, we did suggest browsing via an alternate option. The option we presented in this case was the Opera Mini browser.

Despite RIM’s best efforts, BlackBerry owners are always on the hunt for more functionality from their device. 9 times out of 10 there is a third party application that will provide an added benefit to the standard BlackBerry offering.

BBGeeks answered:

We did a bit of searching for a new memopad application and came across an offering from REXWireless. The documentation did not specifically indicate that it was able to sync with Exchange Notes but we thought it was at least worth a look. We never got a response back from rickt to let us know if this was an appropriate solution to his problem, but we hope it was of some help =)

Do you know how to remote desktop from a bb pearl into a mac with os x? is there a good free solution? whats best paid option?
In the early days of the BlackBerry there was little to no need for connection to a Mac. The platform was reserved for the artsy types and was not considered to be as cool as it is nowadays. The role of the Mac has now changed and it is at the forefront of the consumer psyche. It is not surprising then that more and more BlackBerry owners are looking for ways to connect their BlackBerry to a Mac computer.

BBGeeks answered:

We do not use macs in the main office here at BBGeeks.com. Therefore we were not able to try out the SugarSync service that we stumbled across while sourcing out a solution to CoreyHammond’s request. That being said however, SugarSync was the only remote desktop application that we located that promises connectivity between your Mac, Pc and all types of mobile phone including the BlackBerry.

We suggested he check out SugarSync and report back to us if he has had any success.

asktheboater says:
Is there a way to approve Wordpress comments using your 8830?
asktheboater raised the concern that her BlackBerry 8830 kept hanging up on her when she tried to approve comments on her Wordpress Blog. She asked if this was a common compatibility issue between Wordpress and RIM devices.

BBGeeks answered:

A Google search provided no insight into this problem and did not result in the discovery of any known issues with Wordpress and the BlackBerry 8830. We suggested downloading an alternate to the default BlackBerry browser such as the Opera Mini browser or the Minuet browser.

I’m looking for an app to sync my phone with my Google calendar
This is a very common request. Most people have a Google account to manage at least some portion of their lives whether it’s calendars, email or some of the other handy services offered by Google. Once you have a BlackBerry, it can be very beneficial to sync your data and have it available to you while on the go.

BBGeeks answered:

Google has heard the call from BlackBerry owners around the world and has gone ahead and created a Google application to assist with synchronizing your calendar data Once you download the Google Sync application you will be able to keep your Google calendar updated and in sync on both your BlackBerry and your PC. The application runs in the background and works to keep you on schedule even when you are without network coverage.

what about the memory cleaner utility that is found under opitons > security options
gabejamison sent in a tweet one day in reference to a conversation we were having with another follower. We love to see our followers jump into the various conversations we have. It helps them connect with one another, while at the same time we get to share in all of their combined knowledge. Every once in a while we learn something brand new and we quite enjoy this!

BBGeeks answered:

gabejamison referred to the Memory Cleaner utility which comes standard on your BlackBerry device. We had no idea that this utility even existed, as it is hidden in the security options and requires specific settings to be activated in order for the icon to appear on your main application screen.

The revelation of the utility prompted us to do a little homework and we found out quite a bit about reducing the internal memory used by your BlackBerry. So much so that we decided to write a full featured article on the topic of cleaning up your device so that you have the maximum amount of internal BlackBerry storage possible.

Do you know if anyone else is having trouble playing Travian on their BlackBerry 8310
conedude13 is a fan of the popular browser based game that goes by the name Travian. We had never heard of the game before so we jumped online to discover that Travian is actually an awesome real time strategy game with a military edge that has a player base of more that 3 million people around the world.

BBGeeks answered:

After some Google searching we did not find anybody who was complaining about not being able to play the game on their BlackBerry device. We did however find Travian Proxy and suggested conedude13 give it a shot.

Travian Proxy is specifically designed to allow players of the game to connect through mobile phones and BlackBerry devices. Travian Proxy acts as sort of a middle man for devices which are having trouble connecting.

Is anyone else having trouble installing Zumobi on their BlackBerry devices?
lsrccrd’s question came hot on the heels of the official announcement of the tile based, content browsing application. It is also an example of a tweet that spawned a nice article on the site.

BBGeeks answered:

We had no problems whatsoever installing the Zumobi application, on our device, but the process did take an extraordinarily long time and appeared to be frozen at times.

lsrccrd reported back with the same results later in the day.

Is there a way to tether a sprint 8130 and not get charged for extra tethering plan? is there a hack or way around it?
This is also a very popular topic with BlackBerry owners as many service providers nickel and dime their customers in order to have this “added feature” enabled.

BBGeeks answered:

There are currently no methods that we are aware of that will allow you to circumvent the billing process of your current provider. Even if there were, we are not entirely sure that we could share that here on the site =)

Trying to find a way to get my BB 8330 Curve to imprint time/date stamps on photos taken on-phone.
Having the date and time, as well as location data is becoming more and more popular with the evolution of GPS functionality in mobile phones.

BBGeeks answered:

We didn’t know off hand if there was an application that would stamp date and time info on the actual photographs taken on your BlackBerry, but we did suggest a couple of solutions. The first is Twitxr, a mobile solution for sharing your pictures with time stamp information. The second application we suggested was Mobile Tracker software from Sky Lab. Mobile Tracker offers you the added functionality of geo tagging your images.

I got the Freedom Mini GPS for my 8130, but not having luck connected it to the phone. It’s paired, but won’t connect. Thoughts?

BBGeeks answered:

jamesorlowski managed to figure out this Freedom Mini GPS on his own. It turns out he had to select the device in Settings, Advanced Options, GPS, as well as turn location ON.

I grabbed the new Flickr app by BB yesterday-but there is no photoset option when uploading? Should I uninstall then reinstall?
This didn’t sound right at all. The photoset option should be an integral part of any Flickr application released for the BlackBerry.

BBGeeks answered:

We suggested deleting the Flickr application from the BlackBerry and re-installing it

Do you know of a web-based CRM (free) that is BB compatible?

BBGeeks answered:

We suggested trying out the Sprinx CRM software from Sprinx Systems. Sprinx CRM is a full featured CRM solution for managing business contacts, customer orders, marketing campaigns and more.
