Happy Storm Day! The only bad part about this is the lack of stuff we’ll have to talk about on the Geekcast. Oh well. Better to have the device than to not have it — and be complaining about it. So, instead of device rumors, we talk about a few real BlackBerry issues.

We cut things short today. Why? Because all the news revolves around the BlackBerry Storm, and we’ve talked about this ad nauseum for the past, oh, three months. It’s dropping on November 21, and that’s official. A couple hundos and a fifty-spot will do the trick, though you’ll get the fifty-spot mailed back to you–if you’re not forgetful or lazy, that is.

We keep the show brief this week, as there’s not a whole ton to talk about. We rave about the $50 price tag on the Rogers BlackBerry Pearl flip, but things get a bit sour when we delve into a new tidbit on the Storm.

Happy Halloween everyone. No, I didn’t add any spooky sounds to the podcast this week. We just do it normal. Well, kinda not, since there are no device delays to speak of this week. That’s a good thing, and we roll with the punches to deliver the positive news of the week.

It’s a sad day at BBGeeks headquarters, folks. This is the last time we’ll get to harp on the BlackBerry Bold delays. As we know, AT&T and RIM have announced that it will launch on November 4. So, if you looked forward to your weekly fill of lamenting delays, well, we’ll have to move onto another BlackBerry device. For those of you sick of it, well, next week we won’t talk about delays. Unless, of course, the Storm gets pushed back.

Plenty to talk about in regards to the new line of BlackBerry devices. We’ve got news on the Storm (hint: no Rogers), the Bold (hint: not released yet), and the 8220 (hint: could be a price reduction). Plus, BGR hints at a touchscreen Bold to be announced at WES 2009.

It’s our longest BBGeekcast yet. There’s just so much to go over, with the Storm being announced this week. Yeah, we knew about it a while ago, but it’s always exciting to hear it officially. There’s plenty more where that came from, and we spend the bulk of the time discussing it. If you want some hands-on with the Storm, check out the slew of links we provide in the BlackBerry News Wire.

Today we dedicate most of the show to TheStreet.com writer Gary Krakow, who was vocal in his displeasure with the BlackBerry trackball. It appears that his doesn’t work after six months of use, and the same is true for many of his colleagues. That’s fine — no gadget is perfect. Yet he claimed to find little or no support on the Web. As I proved on the blog this morning, it’s quite easy to find information on cleaning your BlackBerry trackball.

As usual, the show is mostly about the new BlackBerry models set to hit later this year or early next year. We dish some dirt on the Storm, and on the Javelin. Hint, it won’t be called the Javelin anymore. Why is it that every time we get used to calling a new model by a certain name, they go and change it on us?
