You love images of new, unreleased BlackBerry models, right? Sure you do. These are admittedly from a “device simulator,” but it looks like a pretty realistic approximation of what the Kickstart will look like with a red interior color scheme. They come our way via Jibi from BlackBerryNews.com. We’re certainly getting closer to launch on this puppy, which is rumored to be coming in at a low price point through T-Mobile. If it does wind up being $50 with a two-year contract, RIM might see a younger audience snatch up the Kickstart. That is, if they’re the type that enjoys a clunky flip phone (hey, I’m not judging here).

That crafty Kevin. He once again was the first to get his hands on and publicly review a new BlackBerry device. This time it’s the Kickstart, which is going the model number 8220. You can check it out over at CrackBerry. Good find, Kevin.

A new picture of the BlackBerry Kickstart popped up the other day, rekindling rumors regarding the rumored flip device from RIM. Yesterday, CrackBerry got their hands on some slides describing “The BlackBerry Flip Experience.” No mention of the word Kickstart, though. It goes over some of the messaging, alert, and multimedia features of the phone. I guess this comes from RIM, but there’s no real indicator of the source (what’s with the red bar in the top right corner of the slides?).

Figures. Just as I finish up with the BBGeekcast, more specs are revealed for the Kickstart. As predicted, it’s going to be a GSM model. BGR has pics with T-Mobile branding, so it looks like they’ll get the jump on this one. It’s just as well, since they’re not going to have the 9000 series for a while. As you would expect from a T-Mo release, it’ll have WiFi. Unfortunately, it looks like another EDGE release. I’m actually quite disappointed in this. With T-Mobile’s supposed ability to seamlessly hand off between WiFi and their 3G network, you’d think that a BlackBerry with such capabilities would be a big seller. Alas, it’s stuck with EDGE, or at least that’s the word for now. Le sigh. BGR predicts a September release. We’ll keep up with any more news coming in on the Kickstart.

So I’m hanging around, chatting about trivial topics with some friends at 10 p.m., and my RSS hits with a post from Boy Genius Report. At this point in the evening, I usually just glance at the headline, and either mark it as read or open it in my browser for further study tomorrow morning. This time, I could do neither. That’s because this particular posts has exclusive photos of a soon to be released clamshell BlackBerry: The Kickstart. Quite the surprise, to say the least. A few pictures of the beast, plus the available details, after the jump.
