Viigo News brings you RSS feeds without eating memory

Posted by Joe on September 21, 2009

We’ve seen a lot of new features from Viigo lately, as they’ve expanded the functions of their application beyond mere RSS. It has come with a price: the application uses tons of memory. This can slow certain devices down to a crawl. I’ve known many people who have had to uninstall the BBGeeks co-branded reader because of the memory issues. It gets back to basics, offering a stripped-down RSS feed application that works much better with older devices with less available memory. It’s also good for those who don’t use the new Viigo features and just want an app that runs quickly.

It’s no frills, loading just the text from your feeds. In other words, it’s great for keeping up with your reading while keeping memory use in check.
