The Contest

At the beginning of the tournament our friends at Themes4bb.com suggested that we get together and run a contest, gather a few like minded fans from their camp and ours and get them to fill out brackets and see if they could predict the road to the final four and beyond. We set up some nice prizes for the winners and eagerly checked the standings after each round.

In the end North Carolina absolutely dismantled the MSU defense and ran them up and down the court. The MSU team played a great game and deserve a lot of credit for their play (except for the turn overs that is), but it was clear that they were outmatched from the beginning.

We All Had Fun Though!

No matter who you were cheering for there was something to be happy about last night and for three special people the night was made even better when they realized they had taken one of the top 3 places in the BBGeeks/Themes4bb NCAA contest.

Frog Leap Puzzle | Rating: 4 Stars

Overview: Frog Leap Puzzle is a simple game of strategy for your BlackBerry. The game is quite easy to pick up and play, given that the controls consist of one button and some scrolling of the trackball.

The concept of the game is also very straight forward. You are presented with two sets of frogs: yellow and green. The goal is to play a game of leap frog in order to swap the positions of the two sets of frogs. This is rather easy when the number of frogs is low but it quickly gets tricky when you have to swap a growing number of frogs from left to right.

Go ahead and give this one a shot if you are looking for some frustratingly engaging strategy play on your BlackBerry.

Overview: Boeing Bomber is an arcade style game for your BlackBerry. Providing pick up and play gaming for those times where you have a couple minutes down time.

The objective of Boeing Bomber is to fly across a city and destroy a series of buildings by dropping well placed bombs on the tallest target. If you fail to bomb the tallest building you will crash into it on your next pass.

Boeing Bomber does not pose a very complex challenge, but it does provide just enough to make you want to try it again and again.

Our goal was to spread a little cheer to our fellow BBGeeks in the form of Gift Certificates for our online BlackBerry store, while at the same time trying to gauge how effectively we have been helping the community.

Judging by the amazing response to the contest we can safely say two things.

1. BlackBerry accessories, BlackBerry software and BlackBerry games are definitely on peoples wish list this year.
2. BBGeeks is having an impact and really helping out both beginner and advanced BlackBerry users.

Some Kind Words of Our Own

Before we announce the winners of the BBGeeks Holiday Cheer contest we would like to take a moment to say thank you to all of the people who posted their entries on the blog and those who submitted their entries in the form of Twitter replies.

It is no secret that in these tough economic times there is not much extra in the ol’ pocketbook to be spent on the latest BlackBerry application you’ve have had your eye on. That being said, we are sure that there is at least one cool game, or GTD application that you or a loved one would like to see on their device come the morning of the 25th.

Because we love you all, we have decided to give away two $100 gift certificates to the lucky winners which can be used to buy any items available in our online store.

How Do You Enter This Awesome Contest?

There are two avenues of entry for this contest and both are easy as pie!

1. The first option is to leave a comment on this post with a short mention of how BBGeeks has helped you since you started visiting the site. This could be something like “I got my Curve 8330 a few months ago and I was completely lost when it came to adding ringtones to my BlackBerry. BBGeeks not only showed showed me how to add new ringtones but also how to create my own!”
2. The second option for entry is by leaving a similar comment on Twitter explaining very briefly how BBGeeks has helped you with your BlackBerry issues.

   To do this simply send a tweet which begins with @bbgeeks and contains your kind words.

The Contest Rules

We have noticed in past contests that many of you don’t like to follow the rules for entry. Therefore we have made the rules for this contest ULTRA SIMPLE.

1. You can enter using both methods (either commenting on this post or via Twitter) however, all entries are only eligible to win one of the $100 gift certificates. Duplicate entries will be discarded and once a winner from one section is chosen their name will be withdrawn from the second prize selection.
2. Your comments MUST MEET THE ABOVE STATED CRITERIA. Comments like “Please enter me in the contest” will be disregarded.
3. The contest begins now and all entries received before 12:00pm EST on December 19th, 2008 will be eligible to win either of the two gift certificates.

3. Click on the Home button near the top right of your screen and then make an update which begins with @bbgeeks followed by some kind words on how we have helped you get to know your BlackBerry.
