Based in Baltimore, Maryland, and founded in 2003, NetVigour is a hosted Exchange and Web hosting company. They assure their clients that they only hire the best, most certified engineers to serve their customers better.
Pros: Unlike 90% of hosting companies out there, NetVigour supports the new Apple iPhone, and they do it for free. They also provide three different plans for users, from 3 mailboxes to 20 mailboxes. Mailbox sizes start at 250 MB and go up to 1 GB, depending on the plan. NetVigour provides nightly backups that are retained for 14 days. As well, you get anti-virus and anti-spam, unlimited public folders, unlimited email aliases, and more. You also get multiple domain names, which aren’t always offered with other companies.
Cons: They offer unlimited attachment size, but this can be a disadvantage because your recipient may not have the same privileges and your attachment may be too big to go through. Prices are a little high for the lowest mailbox size – other companies charge less and you get more disk space. As well, if you want the least expensive plan, you must have at least 3 users to sign up.
Version of BES: (Microsoft Exchange, IBM Lotus Domino, Novell Group Wise) NetVigour uses Microsoft Exchange 2003, but says that they will be upgrading to 2007 soon.
Plans and Pricing: NetVigour has three different plans – one for 3 mailboxes and up; one for 10 mailboxes and up, and one for 20 mailboxes and up. They all include similar features – Outlook Web Access, Outlook Mobile Access, free Outlook 2003 or Entourage for each user, and you don’t need to have a VPN in order to use it. NetVigour also offers a money-back guarantee and a free trial so that if you’re not satisfied, you can opt out and get any money you put into your plan back.
The 3+ mailbox plan gives users 250 MB per mailbox and aggregated storage. It costs $9.95 a month. The next plan up, the 10+ mailbox plan, has 500 MB of disk space per mailbox and costs $10.95 a month. Finally, the 20+ plan is 1 GB per mailbox and costs $12.95 a mailbox.
Windows ActiveSync is free with all plans, and all plans support the Apple iPhone. If you want a BES, it’s $9.95 a month with a set-up fee of $39.95.
Firewall Protection: Extra security is offered through NetVigour for $1 per mailbox. This enhanced security package gives you better protection over your mail because it allows each user to individually configure their security settings.
Anti-Spam and Virus Protection: Basic anti-spam and anti-virus settings are included with most plans, and if you want more advanced protection, NetVigour offers enhanced mail security for $1 a user.
Set-up Fee: If you want to sign up for BlackBerry Mobile Sync, it will cost you a $39.95 set-up fee. Mailboxes carry a set-up fee of $5 per mailbox.
Other Devices Supported: NetVigour supports BlackBerry, Treo, Apple and Pocket PC devices.
Customer Service: All plans include 24/7 customer service, based in the U.S. As well, NetVigour offers a web-based portal for its current users and access to support docs. The company prides itself on personalized support.
Backup History Storage: NetVigour performs daily backups onto tape and weekly system backups.
Uptime Guarantee: 99.9% according to the SLA.
Additional Services: NetVigour offers Web hosting services, dedicated servers, collocation and SharePoint for a variety of companies.
Fee to Change BlackBerry for Current Customers: There is no charge for this service.
I have several clients of mine hosting with NetVigour. The service is fantastic, I deal with the same couple of knowledgable engineers every time I need to call. Their prices are some of the best for Hosted Microsoft Exchange and BlackBerry too!
