LanLogic BlackBerry Exchange Hosting

Editorial Rating

Overview:

Lanlogic, a company founded in 1995, offers wireless and Exchange hosting to customers located internationally and in all 50 states. They are located in California and they pride themselves on providing a high quality of service to their customers.

Pros:
You get instant activation, a free 30-day trial, and free software, like many other companies. Lanlogic also offers aggregated disk storage and you don’t have to commit to a minimum mailbox requirement. You also get free VPN support and free Outlook 2007 or Entourage 2004 for Macs. They also offer Windows SharePoint Hosting for free when you sign up for an account.

Cons:
If you want extra storage, you’re going to be paying for it. Lanlogic charges $0.10 per MB and plans only include 200 MB per mailbox, which is a lot less than other companies. You also have to pay a small fee for anti-virus and anti-spam protection if you don’t have a shared Microsoft Exchange account.

Detailed Provider Information:

Version of BES: (Microsoft Exchange, IBM Lotus Domino, Novell Group Wise) Lanlogic uses Microsoft Exchange 2003 for small businesses and 2007 for larger businesses.

Plans and Pricing: All plans are $9.95 a month per mailbox. You get instant activation and the latest version of Outlook Web Access.

As well, they offer quotes for businesses with 25 users or more. This plan is $760 a month with a set-up fee of $460. Lanlogic also has plans for 50 users, at $1064 a month with a set-up fee of $510; and 100 users, at $1355 a month with a $610 set-up fee. These plans are for the use of the Dedicated Exchange Server 2007.

If you’re looking for a wireless add-on, Lanlogic has plans with BlackBerry for $10.00 a month (set-up fee of $50) and Goodlink for $20.00 ($50 set-up fee). They also include free Microsoft ActiveSync. If you’re having trouble deciding what wireless device to use, they provide a comparison chart on the Website.

Firewall Protection:
Lanlogic’s servers connect using an encrypted secure connection. As well, Lanlogic is a Microsoft Gold company with network tools to ensure security.

Anti-Spam and Virus Protection: Lanlogic uses Postini Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam to make sure that nothing gets into your messages. Because Postini is a Web-based program, the messages are scanned for viruses before they ever reach your mailbox, and Postini prevents you from passing accidentally-acquired viruses to your clients through email. Lanlogic offers this for $2.00 a month per mailbox, but it’s free for shared Microsoft Exchange Hosting.

Set-up Fee: There is no set-up fee for normal accounts; however, wireless accounts have $50 set-up fees.

Other Devices Supported: Lanlogic supports Treo, Apple iPhone, Windows Mobile SmartPhones and PocketPCs, and BlackBerry.

Customer Service:
Lanlogic provides real-time phone service without wait times; as well, they also have a special support department for Macs and a network status page on their site so you can monitor the network at any time.

Backup History Storage: Lanlogic offers archiving for $250 a month at the least. If you are using the 2007 Exchange Server, the company makes daily backups and monitors the server 24/7.

Uptime Guarantee:
The company provides 99.5% uptime guarantee.

Additional Services:
You can get email archiving, compliance and Website hosting with Lanlogic.

Fee to Switch BlackBerry for Current Customers: There is no charge for this service.
