While many associate push to talk with this squawking sound you might hear walking down the street, it actually used most prominently for business. Many contractors use the technology to keep up with multiple job sites. The problem, until recently, has been that Nextel’s iDEN network has really been the only way to get reliable PTT. It’s an application you can install on your BlackBerry and which will allow you to exchange quick voice hits with other users.

Yes, it’s that time of year again. We all make resolutions that supposedly start on January 1 and will carry us through the year. Of course, they rarely last that long. It seems that every carrier has a different method of getting you a BlackBerry Internet Service account. Even then, it can vary between corporate stores and independent retailers. The result: many BlackBerry users might not know where to login to their BIS account. That’s not a good thing. Yeah, you can set up most of the features right on your device, but that can be a pain. Things like changing your email signature can, for the most part, only be done through your desktop BIS login. So, in case you were wondering where to go, we’ll give you the links here to the North American carriers.

There are instances, though, in which the sender is authentically adding a higher level of importance to this message. Maybe you want to do this yourself, but don’t know how.
