You all remember way back, when actress/model Naomi Campbell was charged with assault — for beating her assistant with a cell phone. Yeah, those weren’t the best of times for Ms. Campbell. But the case has been settled, and Campbell is back to leading her run of the mill celebrity life. Unfortunately, her name has popped back into headlines, but not for anything she did. Apparently, rapper Foxy Brown performed a similar act upon a neighbor, evoking memories of the Campbell incident.

The 27-year-old, whose real name is Inga Marchand, turned herself in to NYPD yesterday afternoon to be booked on felony assault, menacing, harassment and criminal possession of a weapon. She was arraigned and released on $5,000 bail.

The charge stems from an incident on July 30, wherein Ms. Brown struck a neighbor with her BlackBerry. The police report says that the victim “nearly lost some teeth.” How, exactly, does one nearly lose teeth? It also says that the victim’s lip and eye swelled up, so in other words a black eye and a fat lip.

We always knew that BlackBerries would make good blunt weapons. That’s casing is durable as they come, and Ms. Brown helped prove it. Thanks, Foxy!
