If you want an iPhone, why do you have a BlackBerry?

Do you know what the best selling themes are at the BBGeeks Store? I’ll give you a hint: They copy the theme of another popular PDA. Yeah, I’m talking about iPhone themes. It just puzzles me that someone with a BlackBerry would spend money to make their phone look like an iPhone. Is the interface really that cool? Even without touchscreen? You know, because I thought the entire reason for having those block icons was so you could actually press them. Alas, no such advantage exists on your BlackBerry. So what’s the point?

We know that the iPhone is cool and hip. So I suppose people want to bring a bit of animation to their otherwise-blase BlackBerry devices. This isn’t to disparage BlackBerries, though. I rather enjoy the basic design RIM employs. It’s functional, which is far more important than it being cool.

What’s even further troubling is that the other best selling themes are based on the rumored 9000 series. So are people not happy with their current BlackBerries? It seems everyone is pining either for an iPhone or or a new, cooler BlackBerry.

But I suppose that’s the beauty of BlackBerry themes. You can change up your screen to be whatever you want. And if the iPhone theme is our bestseller, well, I guess it’s in demand. I guess the only question I have left is, why no Windows Mobile theme?

I’ve never been a big fan of Apple but I’d like to buy the new iphone 4g and I was wondering if the calls actually drop more than before or not. Thanks a lot. Sorry if it’s a bit off topic :P

The i-phone is an i-pod that makes phone calls, it cant video record, it cant send files by bluetooth, u cant picture message, u cant open more than 1 application at a time, u cant watch mobile tv on it, its way to sensitive, its over rated, touch screen phones are just crap, shall i go on, yea the theme is good on blackberry dont mean we want an i-phone just because we use the theme, so whos the dumb shit now, even the Blackberry storm makes the i-phone look stupid, come back when apple can actually make a mobile phone

Me… because it’s a BRAND NAME not a proper name.

There’s already one “boy genius” on the internet, don’t hurt your brain thinking too hard next time.

How about people like to change up what they look at every so often, and happen to like the iPhone’s GUI for aesthetic reasons? I use a free theme that was obviously inspired by the iPhone simply because it is a well-designed GUI. I had the original AT&T Zen theme for a very long time and after a while it simply gets boring. New versions = more R&D, especially into a good design GUI, it is generally assumed that a GUI will get much better as more versions are released.

I never understood paying for themes at all, and one of my gripes about the Blackberry is that *everything* costs money.

What puzzles me is in this ‘article’ why is the plural of Blackberry not Blackberries? “Blackberrys” looks incredibly wrong.
