Welcome back folks. Thank you for joining us for the second round of the Blueroom Solution theme review. If you missed the last one, head over here to read up on the awesome L Elemental theme which is available free for your BlackBerry.
This time out we will be checking out another great theme, the Today Plus theme which is also available for a free OTA download from BlueroomSolution.com. I suggest checking them out if you are in search of a free solution to jazz up your BlackBerry at any point.
Today is a great day to download the Today Plus theme
The dry desert aesthetic of the screenshots for this theme is what caught my attention; however, when downloading the Today Plus theme for your BlackBerry, be careful because the screen shots do not exactly reflect the theme that you are downloading. Instead of the dry desert look that is shown here, you will instead get a bluish toned background that actually looks a lot better than the screenshots. This theme has some great eye candy happening. Unfortunately we could not do our own screenshots of the theme. Our screenshot software is not compatible with a mac and the 8300 is currently “visiting” the only mac user we have on staff. Sorry for the inconvenience guys and girls.
In addition to the stylish blue tinted background image, you will also note that a lot of work went into the icons and their presentation here. The Today Plus icons are all unobtrusive and easily readable/identifiable, with one exception. The loudness icon seems to stand out from all the rest for no apparent reason. This is not a deal breaker by any means and does not affect the usability of the theme at all. It just looks odd compared to the styling of all the other icons. Gaining access to the additional icons and applications is as easy as pie. You can flip back and forth between your main screen and the full application list with the press of a button. The internal icons are all displayed in a column along the right side of your screen.
One of the more handy elements of the Today Plus theme for your BlackBerry is the inclusion of the new message display count and calendar listings on the main screen. The new message icon is always an indicator I look for and one that I notice is left out of many of the available BlackBerry themes on the web. In my opinion, all but the most minimalist of themes should allow room for the new message indicator on the main screen.
Overall, this theme is mighty impressive and above all else, it is FREE!
If you like the color blue and would like to add a little bit of it to your every day BlackBerry activities then by all means, give the Today Plus theme a download.

This is my theme, and I don’t think I’ll need another. If I could change one thing, it would be adding the address book on the main screen (with the messages and calendar) and taking out the call log icon. I just have to hit “send” to get my call log. No need to have an icon in prime real estate.

Revisiting the Blackberry Screen Cleaner!
Where can I find the Blackberry Screen Cleaners to put logos on for my customer? My customer found them at a trade show, yea I know, but can not find anywhere. I am serious. Not the 3 M version, they want the the Blackberry Screen Cleaner from your 2007 article. Thanks.
Annie, unfortunately we do not carry the specific swatch that was featured in the review — I was also unable to locate a wholesale vendor for such swatches, but found this — perhaps it will work for your needs.
