Research in Motion does it again. Rumors are abound that the BlackBerry Pearl 2 will be released in the fourth quarter of this year. If you thought the original Pearl was a great concept and design, you’ll be even more satisfied with the preliminary details of the Pearl 2. Not much is available right now, but what is makes us salivate…just a little.
What psyches us up the most is that it will be EV-DO, which is just tasty. Much better than the increasingly outdated EDGE networks. And it’s got a 2 megapixel camera, a slight but significant upgrade from the original Pearl (1.3 MP).
The best part, though, is that it’s going to be even smaller. Can you believe it? It’s not going to be as deep as its predecessor: 8mm, to be exact. And it’s going to be 30 percent lighter, which means it will now weigh around 2.2 oz.
The details are sketchy at best right now, but we’ll do our best to deliver updates as we hear them.
