Last week, Engadget blogged about the impending release of the Alltel 8130 Pearl in red. Well, today, Alltel released the 8130 in red in retail stores and via their online store.

Alltel is offering the red BlackBerry Pearl 8130 for $149.99 after a $100 mail in rebate to new customers providing they sign up for a two year contract.

The device will also be available to existing eligible customers on qualifying rate plans. The phone is listed at $479.99 regular price, with a $200 instant rebate (not appeared to be tied to a contract) on the Alltel website.
