[...] How not to upgrade your BlackBerry OS. I know that it automatically backs up as part of the upgrade process, but don’t trust it. Make sure you do your own backup first. Or else you’ll end up like me, which means losing your contacts twice in a month. [...]

oh man I know what this is like. I upgraded my 8830 to 4.5 on the weekend but didn't have any ringtones? wtf? So then I had to downgrade, copy the ring tones over and upgrade again. The whole time I was sure I was going to BRICK it!

My biggest fear in life is my BB disconnecting while it's upgrading. My mouth actually fell open when I read that yours did. lol... Glad you're Berry's back in action.

And remember folks, always back up!

I am *still* waiting for att to release 4.5 for the curve, what a bunch of losers! I upgraded to 4.5 when vodaphone first released it, but it killed bluetooth stereo, so I backed it out.

Does A2DP (bluetooth stereo) work on your version of 4.5?

It was actually doing the automatic backup when I killed it. I suppose I should have done one independent of the upgrade, though.
