Are you part of the three quarters of Americans who don’t want airlines to allow in-flight calls? I sure am. It’s an easy decision for a BlackBerry Geek. We have so many other features on our phones that if airlines allowed us to use them, we could keep ourselves occupied with email, SMS, BBMessenger, and a whole ton of BlackBerry applications. That seems to be the majority opinion. People are fine with silent functions, but simply do not approve of the annoyance of the person next to them jabbering away for the entire flight.
Of course, if they were quarantined to a certain part of the plane, nearly 70 percent of people wouldn’t mind in-flight calls. Hey, just not next to me. I might be a little biased in this, as I hate flying. Add in someone next to me talking for two, four, six hours, and yeah, I’m going to blow my stack.
Then again, maybe it’s not all that bad. On the flight home from WES, I sat next to two people from the same company. One of them talked for the entire two hours. Did not shut up. Incidentally, he was making a call as we were taking off. Anyway, his ramblings didn’t bother me too too much — I guess it’s because of headphones.
Weigh in, BlackBerry Geeks. Would you approve of voice calls in flight, or would you want to limit it to silent functions?

I was just thinking about this yesterday. I’m all for silent functions, but not talking. It’s bad enough people are annoying with their phones everywhere else possible. Lettuce keep airplanes a sanctuary.
NO INFLIGHT CALLS! (uppercase intended)
Data, yes. Voice (and VOIP), no.
I agree, Data yes, VOICE CALLS NO!
Are you against people talking to the person beside them? Because, I really don’t understand the difference. Perhaps you object to people without smart phones being able to use their devices?
