@Gaj Your BBM contact info will remain the same - you will have to register the device with the new carrier so that you can get a BlackBerry data plan and everything will work fine.

BBM is tied to a specific type of data plan - a standard data plan will not allow you to run BBM.

@Ally It could mean you were deleted or it could mean the message was not delivered due to network failure.

I use BBM on my AT&T phone a lot here in the US, and plan to use the same phone on a different local GSM SIM with either EDGE or 3G in another country. Would my BBM still work like I use in US on the same name/ID? Or would it be an all new contact ID etc etc. What exactly is the BBM tied to? Is it tied to a phone or the number or the network? I think - because it is transmitted as data, it could either be network or phone. I need help on this please!

On 9630: I came across a menu option (somewhere) to disable bbms automatically displaying new msgs when removed from holster or woken up. Now I can't find again!! anyone know where this option is?

Is it possible to have a new phone and whatever changes u make on the new phone also changes on the old phone and why is that? I have people asking me all the time why my status message and pictures are constantly changing on my old pin and I don't even use that phone anymore?

What do the little pictures embedded in the "smiley face" next to the contact mean? I know a yellow smiley means that person just sent a message to you. What about the phone icon? Does that mean the person you sent a message to is currently on a phone call? What about the clock/timer? There is even one with a balloon by its mouth. Does that mean your contact is responding? Thanks!!!

@DDOT nope unfortunately I can not find a way to make the custom profiles affect the BBM tone =(

And no there is no way to sign out of BBM - but you can change your status to let people know you are unavailable etc.
