Yes, Teather works with the Boost Mobile BlackBerry 8330. I use it. You can try Teather out for free before you purchase it.

You should be able to use a program like Tether to use your Boost Blackberry as a modem but I would absolutely check with their customer service first to ensure this is supported before purchase.

@Joe.

Cheers mate. I wish for streaming p2p support on BB then. I want to watch the soccer.

There are lots of links to watch with Windows Media player is that supported on BB?

Pity thst I cannot get the full bandwidth ... 200 plus kbps is ok for small scale streaming.

Dillinger, it doesn't sound like that's possible. I'm not too familiar with tethering on EDGE, though, so I can't say for sure. But it sounds like you're stuck with what you've got.

I asked this on another thread and got no reply.

With Pearl Flip over EDGE, there seems to be a very big difference in speed between tethering and BB direct.

If I tether I get such numbers as 34kbps I get to use Firefox and a full keyboard .. etc ... with onboard BB browser (not tethered) I get much faster speeds such as 234kbps but hard to type and see.

I use mobilespeedtest dot com and speedtest dot net.

I really want those extra kbps when I tether. Possible?

Thanks for this.
I have been using my BB Bold's 3G internet connection through my laptop for 6 months now and it work great. I use a bluetooth adapter to connect to the Bold whenever im outside of a wifi zone i can connect to. Much more convenient than having a separate modem stick.

PDAnet is better, IMHO, and cheaper than MobiShark. http://www.junefabrics.com/blackberry/index.php

TetherBerry now has tethering for Mac non-bluetooth mode. http://www.tetherberry.com
