ok I understand how to do this, but when you make the exceptions they remain on all the time even when the phone os set to vibrate. Is there a way to fix that or am I doing something wrong. I just want different people to have different ringtones when they call me that way i know who is calling without looking.

I don't have a stand alone "profiles" icon. I have "edit profiles" in my sounds folder. I assume my normail list of profiles is Loud, Medium, Vibrate Only, etc. Those option are there, as well as "set ring tone alerts" and "set contact alerts." The last option is "Edit profiles." I have no "Advanced" option there. I've used that method (edit profiles), but it doesn't work. I have a BB Bold, don't know if this matters, but if it does and anyone sees this and has one and can help me I'd be grateful. I've gone through my manual - can't believe there's no search feature on the disk.. have been to the official BB site as well as Crackberry... have called my service provider but they're clueless, although they try - so still no solution. I keep reading about creating profiles and exceptions but the one time I tried it my phone stopped ringing altogether. I got it fixed but have no idea how. I've been a computer user for 10 years, am used to solving these things.. anyway can't believe something so simple and useful could be so difficult to set up. Any help is appreciated.

I tried this on my Curve 8330 and it works perfectly but how do you get them to all silence at once. For example, if I am at work and would like to receive calls and text messages from friends and family but on vibrate or silence and the new profiles will not change unless you turn off each one. Is there a way around this?
