Hi Jenn,
I had similar problem. What I did was connect my BB with my desktop through a usb cord. When my desktop recognised the BB, iscanned it with my anti virus (Avast) and sure enough there was a virus. I deleted the virus and things are now back to normal.

My BB randomly deletes my text messages and call log before I’ve had a chance to read them. I have disabled my Memory Cleaning but it still does it automatically and sporadically – which is incredibly frustrating!! I’ve tested it with friends texting me, then seen the little icon appear and immediately disappear without me opening it. Or i’ve missed calls and the call log is empty.

Particularly with iphone messages, my BB doesn’t seem to receive my texts but they receive mine. When I have appointments or plans, this unreliable communication has caused many problems.

Another strange thing is when I have my phone on ‘Silent’ and it still rings!
I have visited my service provider (Telus) numerous times about these issue and they’ve told me to turn on/off, memory clean, etc… and i’ve been told that maybe its a temp networking issue. I have already had my phone replaced under warranty too. Sometimes the phone acts ‘normal’ again, and then other times it just starts erasing things again.

Grr…. I usually like my BB very much but these insufficiencies make me not ‘trust’ my phone and I’m tempted to switch. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks!

Thank you so much for this. I just deleted bb maps. Before, I couldnt receive e-mails. They would be deleted before I had time to open them. THis memory leak issue is a major major problem. Plus I installed a microsd 4 gb card and that did nothing at all to stop the memory leak issue. It is the same as it was before I installed the problem
