Introducing Feed Reader Fridays

Posted by Cooper on December 7, 2007 | 9 comments | Filed under : BlackBerry RSS Readers

As functional as your BlackBerry is on a regular day, pushing your email in real time and keeping you connected in general, it is really only a BlackBerry lite if you are not using it to keep tabs on your preferred news sources.

There are thousands upon thousands of news sources spread out over the web and keeping up to date with even a handful of them can prove to be a daunting task. It is not always convenient to sit down and log onto each website, navigate through the news and then move on to the next. That could take hours. Instead, people need to socialize, spend quality time with their families or get more work done. For these people, having a feed reader on their BlackBerry is essential.

By streamlining the process of news consumption, feed readers make it extremely easy to scan headlines, reading only the news that you need at the moment. Many readers allow for the caching of articles for offline reading, marking articles for follow up, and emailing of selected articles to friends or others who may be interested.

Over the next few Fridays we here at BBGeeks will be bringing to you a series of articles profiling the various feed readers available for BlackBerry users. Each Friday we will bring you a new reader and a breakdown of all its features and functionality, making sure to note the features that separate each from the pack.
