Like most things in life, today’s featured BlackBerry application can be explained with a Simpson’s quote. When going to Itchy & Scatch Land, Homer parks the car and notes: “Remember, we parked in the Itchy lot.” The Itchy Lot, of course, is enormous. We’ve all experienced something like that before. Whether you’re parking your car at an amusement park, the airport, or just on a city street, it’s easy to forget where exactly you left it. Via BlackBerry Cool, we learn of a solution: VQ CarFinder. It’s an application that works with GPS and a Bluetooth unit in your car to register where you parked, and then help you find it if you forget. That should make life just a tad bit easier.
When you start your car and have VQ CarFinder running, it will detect the presence of a Bluetooth signal. Once you shut off your car and the Bluetooth signal turns off, the application notes the GPS coordinates. When you click on the icon to find your parked car, the program will guide you to that location.
Of course, it means you will need a Bluetooth car kit of some sort. Cooper reviewed a Mr. Handsfree Genius Bluetooth Carkit, so you could check that out. The Blueant Se Sun Visor is a bit cheaper, but still $60. Still cheaper is buying a Bluetooth car charger right from VQ. You can bundle this with the service as well.
If you already have a Bluetooth car kit, you can get VQ Carfinder free for 10 days from the BBGeeks Store. The license will then cost $9.99.

Couldn’t someone come up with an application that captures my GPS location at the moment I park, saves it, then directs me to that location from my new (at the future/present) GPS location. Wouldn’t that be an easier application to have than a Bluetooth purchase?
Hmmm surely an easy way to save 10 bucks would be to take a photo of your car with a geotag and navigate back on bb maps?
Just a thought
