The official BlackBerry WordPress client has been out for a few weeks now, and already it’s seen a few updates. Nothing groundbreaking, but just some minor improvements on the basic app. The hope is that there’s enough interest in it that they continue to add new features so it resembles the desktop WordPress as closely as possible. For those who want a more powerful WordPress client right now, though, there is an alternative: Wicked WordPress (thanks Bla1ze). It’s got a ton of features, and the support documents provide an excellent walk through. Unfortunately, unlike the official WordPress app, Wicked WordPress is not free.
That video should get you started, and their support docs should answer any questions you might have about the app. Bla1ze seems to like it, and I tend to agree with his advice on apps we’ve both tried.
Yes, there is a price, $30 for a one-year license. That might seem steep, and it really is when you have the official app for free. But if you’re a power WordPress user and want some advanced functions, you might want to give it a look. You can get it on a 14-day trial, always a plus. Then you can purchase the license right from the app. However, you will need OS 4.6 or higher — which is what precludes me from using this device. Sounds like it’s time to pick up a Tour…
