One thing I noticed when switching from my Verizon flip phone to the BlackBerry was the alarm clock. Like many these days, I use my cell phone to wake me up in the morning. Verizon’s software provided three alarms, though I never really used more than one. With the BlackBerry, however, it’s just one alarm. Setting additional alerts means either setting them up through the calendar or manually resetting the alarm. Sometimes it would be easier just to have a multi-alarm interface. After the jump, we’ll highlight a couple of applications which provide more than the solitary BlackBerry alarm.
One of the coolest apps I’ve found is actually free: MyAlarm. It has up to six alarms, which is more than enough. Like the BlackBerry it has customizable snooze times, plus the option to enter in a code to turn off the alarm. That’s great for those who have a tough time waking up. You’ll have to at least be awake enough to remember and punch in the code. You can download this from the link above, and you’ll have to side load it using Desktop Manager or PocketMac.
While I didn’t have any issues with MyAlarm, I’ve read a few forums where users had mixed reviews. So it goes with free software. I’d definitely give that a try first, but if you don’t succeed, there’s always BBSmart Alarms Pro. It’s essentially the same software, just a bit more stable. It’s just $8.95, and it allows you to set multiple alarms, including quick alerts throughout the day.

Actually, you can set multiple alarms inside of the calendar. Hit the BB button and select “new alarm” and that gives you more than one alarm (which can also be recurring) without changing your daily/main alarm. Note: I have a Storm so I don’t know if this works on lower platforms.
