Use Things to get things done on your BlackBerry

My BlackBerry has been an integral tool in helping organize my life. I’ve always been the cluttered desk type who has to rifle through papers before he finds the one he’s looking for. Once I got a BlackBerry, though, I found it easy to organize personal and business data. But then I discovered applications that could help me organize on a more intuitive basis. We’ve gone over a number of these on BBGeeks, so when I saw the app called Things on the new apps list a couple of weeks ago, I left it be. But when I saw it drop in price this week I thought it might be a good buy for GTD geeks.

Things comes with a number of pre-defined lists, which coincide with the types that I set up on my desktop. It has a daily to-do list, a weekend list, ideas list, and more. The thing I liked the most was the dedicated shopping and grocery list. I started keeping a TextEdit document open with my grocery list, and I’ve found that looking at it when I look at my other to-do and project lists helps me solidify my shopping needs before I go to the store. I’ve been buying better foods and saving money, and I have to think it’s partly because of this. Naturally, I enjoy having the same functionality on my BlackBerry.

Mainly, though, I just like the ease with which Things makes my GTD program. It doesn’t sync with my computer, but it doesn’t really need to. I have such a stingy program set on my laptop that if I see something that’s completed I automatically check it off and delete it. I assume that the same will be true of Things as I get used to it. In other words, I definitely recommend this app, specifically at this price, for GTD geeks who don’t have a BlackBerry-to-computer sync option.

Again, the main reason I present this to you is the price. From now through August 18 you can get the Things GTD app for just $3.99. That’s cheaper than most similar apps, and a 64 percent saving off the normal $10.99 price. If you’re looking for a GTD solution, it’s worth a look.

Is this literally just called Things? I can’t find it in the BB apps store..where can I find it? Or where can I find Remember the Milk?

I’ve been using Remember The Milk (RTM) with much satisfaction on my Blackberry.

Does anyone know in which way Things would differ? Or which is better?
