Looking to tether your BlackBerry to a Mac but don’t want to pair your Mac and BlackBerry via Bluetooth? This has always been a pain, as are many issues for Mac and BlackBerry users. You can read our entire guide to using your BlackBerry as a modem and still be SOL if you’re a Mac user. Thankfully, this will not be the case for long. TetherBerry is preparing a USB interface tethering program just for us Mac users. After the jump we’ll get into some details of their beta program.
So that they get the official release right, TetherBerry is running a beta program to allow for feedback before the Mac client gets a public release. You can sign up for the program if you want to help out, or if you want to get some tethering benefits now before the official release comes out and actually costs money. The PC version goes for $50, so I can only guess that the Mac version will be priced similarly.
Before you sign up, be sure that your carrier supports tethering. For instance, Verizon gets a bit antsy if you tether without paying them the extra $15 per month for tethering privileges. So check your plan and make sure you’re able to tether. If you can, then give TetherBerry Mac a whirl and let us know what you think of it.
