Being a Mac user can be tough for a BlackBerry geek. Not only can I not use BlackBerry Desktop Manager, but a number of the better applications only run on a PC. This includes BlackBerry Screenshooter. So when I review an application, I have to go find screenshots.
I’ve found an application, though, which makes things a bit easier. SnapScreen for BlackBerry is an on-device application which allows you to take screenshots on the fly and save them to an SD card. I’ll post a few pics, and a few gripes, after the jump.

My gripe is that it doesn’t work with some applications. To use SnapScreen, you have to hit the menu key. Sometimes it will show up right in the menu. Others, you’ll have to switch application to SnapScreen. Sometimes, the application menu includes neither SnapScreen nor switch application. I’m not sure what to do at that point yet, though I’ll surely play around with it a bit more.
This means, too, that you can’t take screenshots of menus. So it’s not perfect. BBScreenshooter is still superior. However, given the limited options presented for Mac users, this is a definite upgrade.
Update: Maria, oh sweet Maria, gives me the best pointer of the day. Just set SnapScreen to your convenience key. Now I can take a picture of anything. Sorry, Vlingo.

I love this app,I have it installed on my Bold and it’s great..although I wish you did have the option to “capture” the main screen although maybe we will see i in further revisions.
I’ve never run into SnapScreen not being in application switcher, but I actually have it set to my right convenience key. Maybe try that?
Convenience Key!!!! Maria, you are a genius. Thank you, thank you, a hundred times thank you.
