Screenshot apps for your BlackBerry

If you’re not on Twitter, you’re missing out. We’ve got a fairly prolific account there, @BBGeeks, where we discuss all things BlackBerry with tons of folks every day. Lately we had a little back and forth with a number of readers about screenshot apps. There are plenty of them and everyone has their preference. We have a number of them available in the Store, which we’ll go over here. Best of all, most of them are on sale. Let us know which is your favorite in the comments.

SnapScreen: Listed first because it’s the one I use. I have no particular connection to this app, but it’s the first one I tried and have had almost no problems with it. Sometimes it will close a menu before taking the screenshot, but with a few tries I can usually get it.

Get SnapScreen for $3.99.

Quick Shot: It’s only $1.25, it’s available all the way back to OS 4.3, and it works pretty well. Even supports multiple screenshots.

Get Quick Shot.

Screenshot: Basic name, basic app. It takes shots in a number of different formats, and can queue them so you can send a batch via email. It also provides a notification when the screen shot gets taken.

Get Screenshot for $2.49. There’s also a free version, but that obviously lacks some of the more in-depth functions.

Screen Muncher: This is more of a for-fun thing, allowing you to capture screens complete with munch-marks. It does create a watermark, so you won’t go posting them on your blog, but it’s fine for sharing with friends. And yeah, it’s free, so there’s no real downside.

Get Screen Muncher.

Alisha Screenshot: This is a new one, and it looks pretty basic. In fact, it looks a lot like SnapScreen. At least it’s cheap.

Get Alisha Screenshot for $1.99.

I’m a fan of CaptureIt as well. Free, no watermarks, works as advertised.

CaptureIt, hands down. Free, and has never failed.

CaptureIt is great, I’ve never had a problem with it and you can’t beat free!
