Save your BlackBerry battery life in areas of bad service

One thing that takes up a ton of battery life is searching for signal. Since your BlackBerry checks for signal when you have poor or no reception, it’s in these times that battery drain is the worst. For instance, when I go underground to the subway, my BlackBerry wastes a lot of battery checking for signal. You can turn the radio off manually, sure, but if you forget to turn it back on you could miss calls or important messages. Thankfully, there’s a cheap application which can take care of the job: Radio Saver. This app by Epic Applications shuts off your battery when you’ve got poor or no signal, checking at less frequent intervals for better service, so your Berry doesn’t waste its juice.

Not only can the application take care of your radio needs with two presets for common situations, but it’s totally customizable as well. This means that not only does Radio Saver help conserve battery, but it conserves it an a manner optimal to your situation.

The app works on any BlackBerry OS 4.3 or higher, so almost everyone can beneit from this. It’s also pretty easy on memory usage. You can get Radio Saver at the BBGeeks Store for just $2.99 until August 16, at which point it reverts to its normal $4.99 price.

Jacquie, I think you misunderstand. I’m talking about the cellular radio that picks up the signal for your voice, text, and data services.

Does this app also work if you do not use radio?
