If you run a small business and use UPS for shipping, there’s a new app for you. Starting today, UPS will offer a mobile shipping application through App World. While it will work fine for individuals who want to track shipping status, the app caters more to the small business crowd that uses UPS services more frequently. Plus, I can’t think of many times that I absolutely need to track a personal package when I’m not in front of a computer.
Using your My UPS ID, you can track all shipments on your account. You can also track by tracking number without needing a My UPS login, though again the application seems more geared towards the frequent user. You can also email and print shipping labels using the information from your My UPS account. From there you can find the nearest UPS store for package-drop off. The application will even quote you a price and estimate delivery times.
This actually isn’t the first UPS tracking application for BlackBerry. Virtual Views has an app called TrakPak, which allows you to check on orders via UPS, USPS, FedEx, and DHL. The new UPS application does more than track, and it’s also free, while TrakPak is $9.99.
The application is compatible with BlackBerry OS 4.6 and higher, so that covers all the new models. You can download it from App World.
